I think ROF is absolutely flawless. I remember when it first came out, I was a fairly new Stevie fan and they played around the same time every day. I would listen to it in my car on the way home from work and just adore it. I love the music but the lyrics are some of my favorite by her..."She dreamed of her wanton luxury...and she laughed and she cried and she tried to taunt him..."

I love this song. It's the song that introduced me to Stevie Nicks. I'm sure I'd heard songs like Dreams and Talk To Me but this was the first time I actually knew who she was.
I love the lines: "She dreamed of her wanton luxury And she laughed and she cried...and she tried to taunt him And he hated to be separated... From that picture...No..." The way she sings that verse is just gorgeous. I remember seeing the video as a child and I always thought of it as "the red video" |

Rooms on fire seems to be the ONLY song that people who are not familiar with SN know OR the only song that people who do not like stevie nicks dont mind.

"The thing that you personally have long ago forgotten, or can easily forget, is happening to me now, and will happen to me again to-morrow. Remember this, and you will be able to understand a little of why I am writing, and in this manner writing. ... Sorrow is the most sensitive of all created things. There is nothing that stirs in the whole world of thought to which sorrow does not vibrate in terrible and exquisite pulsation."

I find the complete opposite with your findings. Here, most casual listeners know Leather & Lace or Stop Draggin' My Heart Around. |

I'm too tired to type a long winded response so I'll just say it's my favorite song that Stevie did not write all by herself (she co-wrote it with R. Nowels) and that's saying a lot. It's one of her best songs ever, it's a legacy, it's a masterpiece, it's Stevie to the core.
