Thumbs down Jeans

Well, I'm going to complain. I mean, I was out looking for a new pair of jeans, & now they seem to be making them with "stretch". And even dress pants have "stretch" in them. And I'm complaining because I don't like "stretch" in anything. For one thing "stretch" is hot & for another, jeans just don't fit me right with "stretch" in them. Now don't think I'm real fat, not that's there is anything wrong with that (I'm a size 6.), but I can't wear straight leg jeans anymore. I'm not a junior. I don't like skin tight jeans. I like the relaxed fit jeans. Now luckily while I was out over the weekend at a mall about 2 hrs. away, I just happened upon a pair of Lee jeans in Penney's, relaxed fit, size 6, short. They were perfect for me & no "stretch", a bargain at $9.99. Can you believe that? But they were the only pair there & all the others were jeans were "stretch". Is this a fad, the new trend of the year? I am in most distress because I feel like I'll never see regular Lee, Levi, or Wrangler relaxed fit jeans again. Oh & check out this article. And thanks for letting me blow off some steam!

Aww, man. I hate skinny, or tapered leg jeans. They're just not comfortable. But then again, I'm overweight.

I think denim (jeans) look bad when they are baggy and loose. I think blue jeans look best when they "fit"...I'm not saying tight, just a perfect fit. I also think that if you're overweight, you just shouldnt wear them. Some fabrics just don't look good if they aren't worn right.

I like buying jeans from Victoria’s Secret because you can get the same Jean in stretch or non-stretch. They have really cute clothes and the prices aren't too bad.

Jeans suck if you're broke. I mean, if I had a spare $75 or more laying around to buy a really nice pair that fits me well, that'd be OK. But I don't. So I continue to buy them from NY & Co. when they're buy 1, get 1 half-off. They're not bad, but I don't love them.

And the stretch ones? Puke. I thought they'd never come back "in" after I stopped wearing them when I was 17. Guess I was wrong. I don't mind them around the house, they're pretty comfy. But I don't wear them out, they are not flattering. At all.

Yeah, it wasnt directed at anyone in particular. That was just my personal thought on wearing jeans. I actually prefer the 501 button fly jeans still...but I've not bought a pair in about 2 years (actually my mom bought me the last pair!)...not even sure where to get them. They're some of the few jeans that make my ass look good. HA!

Just wondering - what should overweight people wear instead of jeans?

I like jeans with a little stretch in them, keeps the shape for multiple wearings. The Gap has the best I've ever bought.

Now if I had some real $$$ I'd be at Diesel buying up every pair of jeans in stock.

Here's my complaint: Can they no longer make NORMAL jeans? Everything's gotta be ****in' lowrise? I hate that.

I hate stretch jeans. If you have the cash check out Lucky Brand Jeans. Most of there jeans aren't stretch. If you can find a pair without holes....they are fabulous.

I buy mine from NY & Co as well. They're about the only ones that fit me well (although the last ones in my size, which I bought without trying on, were bigger than usual for some reason.) And like you, I can't afford to pay a lot for my clothes, especially jeans, which I can't wear to work.

And I am also appalled that the stretch ones are making a comeback! Back in the 80's, we all thought they looked "hot". Now? They look ridiculous! I'm not thrilled at all that the 80's fashions are coming back.
