I really got to try this stuff that you are talking about. It sounds great and as soon as the stuff that I am using right now runs out I will definitley order this. So what is the best product to use right now to clear old acne scars? I want something that works fairly quickly. Thanks so much for telling me about this site. I really appreciate it.!

Yeah I know what you mean about Accutane. I have read some very interesting things about it online. It does scare me in a way to start taking but I just gotta hope that I dont get any side effects that are too bad.

Philosophy has a new product out called "Pigment of Your Imagination", which is supposed to lighten all blemish scars. I have ordered this, but it hasn't arrived yet for me to try. I have several old blemish scars that I am self-conscious about and want to lighten. Here is the link:

Right now, I use the microdelivery peel, and like it very much for the overall smoothing of my skin. It literally feels "baby soft" after use. They have another kit for more congested skin - "Oxygen Peel Kit" - that might work even better:

I just cannot say enough about these products! I love everything from their skin care to their body wash and foot cream.

Wow, thanks again for this info. I am going to order some stuff today and I will let you know how it works. I am going to get the pigment of your imagination stuff first and then the oxygen peel kit and then the 4 piece cleansing system.

I cant wait to try this stuff!

Based on how much response this thread has gotten, it seems like skin issues are pretty common, and they definitely affect self-esteem.

I used Proactiv for about two years. I have to agree with a previous poster in that I would run out of the cleanser before I ran out of the toner and the repairing lotion, so sometimes I had to order more cleanser. Overall, I think Proactiv worked well for me. I had alot less large, painful pimples, but I seemed to get more small pimples (only noticeable under close examination) all over my entire face.

Recently I decided to try the dermatologist route again. I tried it once before, but I got tired of taking an oral antibiotic every day, which was part of the treatment plan I was given. This time I was prescribed a cleanser...something like Sulfamet?? Can't remember and don't have access to it right now. But it works really well. I'm also using Differin and MetroGel. I've been diagnosed with rosacea as well as acne. I don't see the rosacea, although I do have broken capillaries on my nose.

Right now, things are going pretty well with my acne, using the three prescribed products: the cleanser, Differin, and MetroGel.

My problem is this: my forehead is EXTREMELY oily. Can anyone recommend a makeup or other product to control and/or conceal an oily forehead??

That's the one my aesthetician lady sells at her place. She says it works well, she's been using if for 2 years - and I saw before and after on some people - but it's a lot of maintenance I guess.

My mother gave me some that she bought on impulse at her aesthetician's office. It is $$ stuff. I think I saw results, but then my sleep and water intake habits are so poor, that I have to consider those factors in the appearance of my skin as well. I have not been using the products as directed, because as you said, it is a lot of maintenance (they want you to use up that cream, so you can buy more) and I can never remember.

Sounds like how my skin was. The only reason I was given Accutane is because my skin was totally resistant to every other treatment, and believe me- I tried them all.

I don't have any idea about this- sorry. Maybe Amber will chime in. She's almost a dermatologist.

Yeah, I don't know, really. I haven't found anything. I tried a couple matteifying things, but didn't think they worked very well. I just blot my skin if I want to get rid of the oil. But I usually don't, because I have sunscreen there, and I don't want to wipe it off.
Sorry. I know there is mattifyers, maybe one will work for you?
They sell tons of those quick facial wipe things in the store, too. They're fairly small, so you could probably take them places.

You sound like me I just finished accutane treatments 5 months ago. I had horrible acne for years, nothing else worked - but now I am happy to report that I am acne free
