I had a Latin teacher before I dropped it a few years ago who was a real character. He would always give his pupils nicknames because he was a little eccentric.
Mine was Peestie because it combines the start of my first name and start of my sir name... sorta... I you just took the first few letters of my names it would be "Pest" if you took the first 2 or "Petsti" if you took the first 3 (Peter Stitt). Peestie just looked so much better written down and was how it was pronounced. To start out with people called me it mockingly (they were jealous their nicknames weren't as cool ) but I liked it so I didn't mind. Now it has stuck and for the last 6 or 7 years just about no-one calls me by real name. Even my other teachers call me Peestie now and even my parents on occasion. |
