If you truly believe that his singular characteristics can't be found on that album in abundance, you're smoking too much weed. Name some other songs from the late 1970s (but which predate Rumours or which weren't obviously influenced by Rumours) whose arrangements & textures are similar to "The Chain," "Second Hand News" or "Gold Dust Woman" -- or even "Silver Springs." As for risks in production, locate me some of them production risks on the albums "Not Shy" & "Fundamental Roll." I've got all year, so take your time.

I don't like Rumours because it bores me, plain and simple, and I really don't care if you like that opinion or not. |

Let me say this, Miss Vicky: you are one of the coolest people here on the Ledge. I almost always zoom in to your posts first because I want to read them first. So I will always try to engage you in discussion & debate. I hope you don't put me on "ignore" for that reason.

I? Was a chiffonhead and a SHIPPER at one point in my fandom, if you can believe it. To answer your question: There are no production risks in Fundamental Roll or Not Shy. They're just light and fun and catchy and I love them for that. But the music that Walter created long after his collaborations with the various Mac members is what I love most and is the reason why I am a true Egan fan and not just a casual listener. EDIT: BTW, there's no risk of you being put on ignore. If I were to make a list of members that have annoyed or flat out pissed me off at one point or another, it would fill my screen, but the number of members on my ignore list? None. I thrive on friction too much to do that. ![]() |

The sociological perspective consists in the fact that Mick & John operate the band essentially, which means that by joining or leaving Fleetwood Mac, you are joining or leaving the rhythm section, because the name stays with the rhythm section. The aesthetic/psychological perspective consists in the response many people have to the abstraction of an entity such as a rock band. That response reflects a psychological identification with a certain configuration -- a configuration not based on logistical or even legal aspects but based on the partially overt, partially subliminal conceptualizing power of the cerebellum & the cerebral cortex, which renders such ideation in emotive terms & then turns in on itself so that all sense of presence is merely deferred in increments that are themselves correspondent with levels of emotional experience.

The other few people on my ignore list are there because they don't ever say anything that elicits any sort of reaction from me.

I'm different from every other Ledgie because I REFUSE to take part in these insipid polls... wait... damn.

Nothing like being talked down to on an internet board about a rock band. But as a great mind once wrote.... oh, well. ![]()
