Do I think we will ever see Fleetwood Mac play halftime of the Super Bowl? No...'No chance in hell' is my opinion. But they (Fleetwood Mac) did play a pre-Super Bowl game performance a few years back with the BTM lineup (Minus Stevie if my memory serves me right...I have that performance on DVD).

Back to the Stones, At least they did not commit musical suicide ala "Aero-Supply" (Formerly Aerosmith) by allowing 'crap entertainers' such as N'Suck & Britney Speared to sing a classic song (Walk this Way"...Forever known as "Walk this Way...To sellingout!") that permanently killed their careers in the eyes of many a faithful longtime fans like they did a few years back during a halftime performance.

The performance is from the pre-game Super Bowl XXVII show that was shown nationally, The "Behind The Mask" lineup minus Stevie-They only played one song from what my notes tell me:

Fleetwood Mac-Super Bowl XXVII Pre-game Show
Say You Love Me (Live)

Hey, before we moan and groan about the Stones, let's all remember that bizarre combo a few years back of Aerosmith and Britney Spears on stage at the same time!

Here's a pic from Superbowl 27 from Rick Vito's website. Also featured is (the great) Albert Lee and Gary Busey. Hmmm, I seem to recall Busey playing Buddy Holly once. Well, it's not the first time there was a Buddy Holly imposter playing with Fleetwood Mac.

See post #31.

Halftime "entertainment" has sucked in recent years, though the Stones were okay.

Sorry have to disagree with you on those points!! Ford Field "does " have a roof..It was a very warm 68degrees in there yesterday..although felt more like 168 degrees to me...(aghh it was to Hot) and the venue does have a great sound system..which hosts many top performing artists..Not sure what happened yesterday with the sound though ,.It was bad..but I really think it has more to do with the broadcasting stations.Did anyone see when they had the Stones play for I think it was the grammy's last year or some awards show can;t remember which one..but same thing the sound sucked big time.
I do know that the crew working with the Stones are top notch..in fact some of the same guys finished working with FM on their last tour and then Stevie on her summer tour with Don and went straight over to working with the Stones..
But hey I agree with everything else..I can only hope I can move around like Mick does at that age. and they really did put on a great great show this summer ..

Lightbulb Wierd!

Gary Busey. Alrighty.

The Super Bowl was totally fixed. Those refs were paid off and I'm not some Seahawks fan or anything, although I was rooting for them as they were the underdogs.

I thought the Stones were great. Any gripes about sound should be directed at the sound engineer, the Stones themselves were giving their all. It wasn't THEIR fault that those guys that mix sound for television have a tin ear for music.

It has taken you 40 Super Bowls to figure out that one?

Thank God for Puppy Bowl II over on Animal Planet.

I'm kind of against the idea of having Stevie as a half time performer because its the super bowl. Its football. Nothing would kill the mood more than a 60 year old woman twirling around a stage in chiffon singing songs about the moon.

Fleetwood Mac I could see doing it, and I guess if they did a tour next year they'd be an option, but I really think it will be The Who, since they'll be on tour this summer and probably into next year.

I thought it was great, for a half time show. I mean you have to remember this was a half time show. The sound is always bad during these half time show performances, always.

Of course, they did "Start Me Up" and "Satisifaction." This is what is expected by the general population. If they hadn't done those songs, people would have been bitching about that. People would be saying..... "I can't believe they did all these new songs! Where is "Satisifaction?" I thought that it was great that they did "Rough Justice," which is a really good, new song, and it mixed their old classics with their new hit.

About their ages, I'm sorry but I don't see how you can't be impressed with men or women that are their ages still doing a show like that.

All in all, I was pleased.

It was one helluva show...and they ALL (well, minus Charlie Watts who was stuck behind his drum kit) moved around the stage like a bunch of teens! I especially liked their stage that moved halfway through their set...even "Chucklin' Charlie moved! LOL!

The keyboardist above is a local fave from Macon, GA!

Unfortunately, Wilco was their opening act and they sucked! They have a lot to learn about showmanship...maybe the "Strollin' Bones" as I lovingly call them helped them on tour!
Gini, Did you take those photos yourself?
