DELICIOUS! Hope to get some tickets on eBay for Dortmund or Amsterdam cause I love Rick Wright! But why couldn't he get Nick to drum for him (well, I'm not philosophing about possible bass from Roger, so I'll stop now)

The tickets are so outrageous. Maybe it's because I'm not a Floyd fan at all, but oh. my. god. $140 per in Chicago.

And, Guy Pratt is the guy who "replaced" Roger Waters in Pink Floyd.
Geez...add Nick Mason to the lineup on drums and it is pretty much a post-Final Cut version of Pink Floyd.

Speaking of PF here is some more news that is very (Duh) obvious: PINK FLOYD - No Plans For Reunion HindustanTimes.com (www.hindustantimes.com) has issued the following report: Legendary British Rock band PINK FLOYD have left their fans nursing broken hearts by denying reports that they are on the verge of a reunion. The band's performance at the Live8 charity concert in London had left fans hoping that they would see their idols together once again but former band members David Gilmour, Roger Walters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, in a joint statement, denied that the group had any plans to reform. "Nick, Richard, Roger and I are telling fans directly that this is not happening," Contactmusic quoted Gilmour, as stating.

I think everybody was pleased with the result at Live 8, Roger showed his pleasure, Gilmour was too busy concentrating to show his emotions. I believed before the gig and even more now that it was a one shot deal. Pink Floyd are now consigned to history. It was a nice way to end after nearly 30 years of bitterness by all parties. For me personally it was both a pleasure to see Pink Floyd in thier most creative line up and also rather sad knowing it was a once in a lifetime experience. It will be a day and an experience I'll never forget. Gilmour has moved on. He will shortly be 60 and the pressures of working with Pink Floyd would be massive. If Pink Floyd announced a world tour it would be the biggest live act the world would have seen. I believe it would blow the Rolling Stones away in scale. (just think back to the Pulse tour in 1994, even then it was a huge epic tour). He doesn't need this. He's got a young family, a wonderful home and a beautiful wife. Add this to his age and the fact Pink Floyd would never record together again and so he's quite keen to work on new solo material and not the Pink Floyd "gravy train" Greatest Hits world tour. David and Roger were offered $150 million to reform the band after Live 8 and they turned it down. I think that says it all. They will not have the embarassment of being has beens touring for money. Pink Floyd remain different in their thinking. As they always have done... |
