Roxy Music

[QUOTE=Chilly Willy]What I liked most about the As Time Goes By album and the Live In Paris dvd is that he did not use modern technology. If he's doing a Cole Porter song, it's acoustic guitar and stand-up bass.

I agree that he doesn't bring too much that's new to these songs (other than himself, which is a pretty considerable contribution) but it's always great to hear quality songs performed by quality musicians.

Totally agree! That 's why those covers are genial! He doesn't have to put anything else to it but his smooth singing.

And by the way, in the Live in Paris DVD, he looks like a nice fella, too. I just love it that he looks more like the average english upper-class gentleman than a former coke head rock star. And I mean that the nicest way possible

Another thing I like about the performance on the dvd is that you can tell how much the band is enjoying themselves. Laughing and making faces at one another. They were really into it, and it comes through in the music.
