I just found the concert is definitely Oakland. At the end of Rhiannon, Stevie screams out "Oakland!" The only date I found where Frampton played after the Mac, is August 2nd, 1975.

It was one of the Bill Graham Days On The Green festivals -- the first one Lindsey & Stevie ever played with the Mac. And I believe it also ran August 3. Frampton, Dave Mason & Robin Trower were on the bill.

Now I'm beginning to think that the mystery "Frozen Love" generally tacked on to this show might be South Orange -- how else would you get such a ridiculously bizarre locale out of the blue?

However, South Orange is still dated as Oct. 13, so unless the date is wrong, that seems mighty late in the touring that year to be playing Frozen Love, especially given the fact that it is played & sung exactly like the Oakland Frozen Love (which indicates probably that it's from a show that same week or two).

My info is essentially the same: two shows, August 2 & 3, Oakland Coliseum, lineup: Dave Mason, Peter Frampton, Robin Trower & Fleetwood Mac on the 2nd; Dave Mason, Peter Frampton, Robin Trower & Gary Wright on the 3rd (probably Wright played both dates with the rest of them). Fleetwood Mac would have been pretty low on the bill, if not actually at the bottom, at this point in 1975. You know what's weird is this review from the following year's festival:



The review calls the 1976 DotG the first one. What gives? It's also cool to see that essentially the same lineups played both years, & Gary Wright played with Fleetwood Mac on the Oakland bills THREE years in a row. It would be very interesting to get in touch with him for anecdotes -- surely after sharing the bill with Mac for three years in a row, he'd have plenty of good stories to tell. Somebody hunt down Gary Wright!!

I don't think we can trust that listing to be the actual order of performance. If Frampton & Mason were bigger than Mac in August 1975 (& I have a sneaking suspicion they were), they would have played after Mac on both days.

Notice how it says "Oakland Stadium" instead of Oakland Coliseum? I think misprints -- even on concert flyers -- just abound.

So as far as I know, Fleetwood Mac with Buckingham & Nicks played three Days on the Green festivals in a row (1975, 1976, 1977). Did they play any with Welch? How far back do these festivals go?

Sorry to jump in so late...I actually was at the San Diego Balboa Stadium show in 1975. I know Frampton didn't play (although I did see him at Balboa Stadium during the Frampton Comes Alive tour) and from what I remember Rod Stewart, Loggins and Messina and Lynyrd Skynyrd did play. My memory is really bad from that show - I was in high school and I really only remember the hot sun, being high, sitting on the grass, and Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill - OUCH!!

I'm not sure how far back the DOTG concerts go, but here's the link I found with the Bill Graham related shows: http://www.sugarmegs.org/billgrahm.txt.
A lot are just concerts and other fests like the US Fests and Winterland, but they have Mac dates going back to the late '60's.
I didn't find any listed with the Mac and Bob Welch, but it lists the Cal Expo '78. Of course, that was just Stevie and Mick with him.
I can't believe all the misprints on reviews and flyers. Oh wait, it was the '70's and drugs were everywhere. Maybe that explains it.

Thanks for the updated info. I've re-labeled my San Diego/South Orange copy as Oakland, CA August 2/3 1975. I've always wondered if this October date was correct since the set list was so different from the other boots from Fall 1975...Frozen Love, Jumping At Shadows, Say You Love Me, etc.
