Her street angels are homeless enough by my definition.

And I *love* that song, too. One of the few good songs on that heinous album.

Well Said - Its really the production or the music that gives it some of her songs a dark edge, not so much the lyrics

No. You have to be Stevie. You can't judge Stevie on outside world concerns. It's futile. (I mean, you can, but you won't have the essence of Stevie, then ~*wyndchyld!*~) Seriously, do you really think Stevie's Street Angels are homeless???

I didn't used to like the song as much, but I liked it okay. In the past few years I've really grown a huge appreciation for it - the bandwork and production is unusual (and, actually, I guess we could say the lyrics are, too) and I like that. It's very moody. It's still slow, which counts against it, but it gets all the kudos from me that it could.

Foxyluva - thank you, that's how I think of Stevie. And you are right about her production - her lyrics are mostly similar, so production (and note/band choices, IMO) can really make or break a Stevie song.

Yay! Your welcome, production is the most important thing for stevie's songs, i agree, without good production the song can fall flat - the whole Street Angel album is proof!

I really love the song Street Angel also, the minimal beat and the tapping of the tambourine is beautiful - "Ive been walking under rainbows, too long to tell.."

The more I listen to TISL, the better I think SA is. SA has definitely appreciated in my mind since becoming familiar with more and more of stevie's music. When I first got it, I only knew Stevie's hits - which made SA a bit disappointing. But now that I've "heard it all" I think SA is actually really good.

Leave it to Homegirl to romanticize the homeless. Priceless.

I think that TISL is brilliant (take or leave a few songs ) - but yea, i agree, it has taken me a long time to get in the mood to listen to SA and now i actually enjoy some songs on there, especially SA and Destiny - Maybe Love has grown on me soo much as well. But i wouldnt go as far to say SA is really good - I would say really average as a whole.

Blergh. It appears we have opposite tastes. Which everyone does when it comes to Stevie. Like, Maybe Love pisses me off.
So, rock on, I don't like TISL much (about 5 songs) you don't like SA much.
I usually listen to SA when it's raining. Just a little tip...

This is perhaps the only thing about you, my dear Shaniqua, which makes me seriously question your sanity and taste.

Duh. It's what she does, it's who she is. To think otherwise is folly.
But don't forget, though that's true, most of her songs contain much dramatic emotional pain.

Well, we all have those Stevie tastes. For instance, Towie like Desert Angel. Who can explain that? Does it mean towie is less cool? NO! No one ever likes all the same Stevie stuff anyways...

And remember, you haven't seen my clothes yet. So don't question my tastes prematurely. lol.

I think its good when people disagree - it makes for a more lively discussion , but I really like "maybe love" - but i really dont like "Docklands" or "Unconditional Love" among others, but Im glad to see we both agree on the song Street Angel - Funny you should say you listen to it when its raining - i had it on in the car on the way to and from uni when it was raining, and this is where i discovered i actually like "Maybe Love"

p.s. - TISL is a great album, the only negatives are Too far from texas, Its only Love and Everyday (Spew material) lol

I want to see and hear her romanticize domestic abuse. That would be all kinds of f*ucked up and crazy. I can see it now..."Safe House Angel".

True. That is a curious chink in the Towie armor for sure.

I suspect your clothes rock, Wilona.

Okay, so we have come to the conclusion that the songs on SA suck, the design sucks, her voice sucks - so basically the whole album sucks, right
