You do not even know what a Democrat is or a current R for that matter.

No, you didn't. This is what you said:

"So because specific groups are close-minded I have to sacrifice my other social and economical beliefs...that is unfair."

Implying that you shouldn't have to leave the Republican party because of "specific close-minded groups." To which I reminded you that registering as an Independent would not result in you sacrificing or compromising your "beliefs." Keep up!

Open your mind.
You didn't have to post the Gay rights one...lol

And I am vaguely familiar with Lawrence v. Texas, but it was an interesting read (I'll read it thoroughly later tonight).

Well I don't understand why exactly I must LEAVE the Republican Party just due to one issue. Why not fight inside to change it? Why are there any gay Republicans at all then?

I know exactly what a true democrat is. Zell Miller is a true democrat! Olympia Snowe is a true democrat! The Dick Gephardt of 20 years ago is a True Democrat.

Please enlighten me on how exactly you're fighting to change the Republican party so that they're more welcoming towards homosexuals. This should be rich.

I find it incredibly humorous that you're even talking about working towards change in that arena when the Republican base is made up of fundies and neocons. I.e. the people who think gays are sinners. They'd be perfectly content without you in their party.

"Gay Republican" is an oxymoron. Those Log Cabin idiots are selling out gay rights for the almight dollar, plain and simple.

Yeah, I was gonna say- I can't believe claiming to be studying to be a paralegal that he has no clue about the Texas sodomy case. But, then I remembered the subject in question. OY!!!!

And that is a grossly unfair characterization!

Excuse me for not being familiar with every aspect of the law! If I am the "subject in question" then why am I held up to such lofty expectations?

It was rough. I didn't have anyone to talk to about any of this, so I'm glad that others do.
Yea thanks for the input. I'll ask next time.

No it isn't. I've been a part of the gay community for the last twenty years. You've been gay for..... let's see maybe the last two hours?

"Gay Republicans" are so concentrated on the fiscal side of conservatism that they have no problems whatsoever screwing over themselves and their fellow gay brethren.

It's perfectly fine to deny gays the right to marry as long as they get a kickback (i.e. tax break) from the government. Fight from within my ass. The only fighting they do is for the right to hoard their money.

Since when has a Supreme Court decision that is the biggest civil rights success for the gay community in the history of the United States been "every aspect of the law"??? Lofty expectations?!!?! Pull your head out of your ass.

um..it's not exactly like studying to be a lawyer. Just saying. We don't review tons of cases, we learn how to research cases, how to write about them for our lawyers to peruse, how to do paperwork that has to be served on people and filed in court, how to calendar, form citation - things like that. We do work with some cases, (I've had research classes every other semester) but usually the subject matter is limited by what the teacher gives you. And they are rarely sodomy cases.
