Default Survey for SAHM's

I am a SAHM. Just wondering how many women that are married or in a full-time relationship get up at 6am to make their husbands/S.O. breakfast?

I would probably feel different if he did anything on the "Honey-Do List" but he still has projects around the house to finish that hasn't been done for months He never made me breakfast when I worked a full-time job outside the home and then I would come home to clean house

Maybe I should force him to go on "Wife Swap." Maybe he would get the lazy, artsy wife who makes the hubby do the housework.

I did it and I also worked but got up much later or I left it there already made or set out if I left earlier

I must say though, when the tables infrequently were turned, it was nice

I am married and have a full time job and two teenagers. I get no help around the house and make my husband breakfast and dinner. I feel like I should be able to rest but no, once I get home there is so much to be done. I talk to these guys till I am blue in the face. Tell them if you use a dish, plate or cup please rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is full please empty it. You would think I am asking for their first born child. Rooms are pitted and my husband is the worst of all. I go behind all three of them pick up and cleaning up. It drives me nuts. I went on strike a month ago. It didn't work.

So, needless to say I feel your pain!

I work pretty much full time (I am an eye doc, so sometimes I book extra days and sometimes I book less days) and I do make the breakfast and dinner. Usually nothing fancy. And I do the grocery shopping. But we try to help eachother overall. Oddly, today I was not working and hubby came in to get some socks and asked me if I wanted to eat breakfast together or sleep in, and actually when I got up he commented that he thought not too many wives would. Interesting that we all seem to do the breakfast thing!

I was a full time homemaker for 9 yrs and not once did I get up to make Marty breakfast at 6 AM. He has two perfectly good hands. it's enough that I have made breakfast and lunch for the kids every day of their lives and also put dinner on the table every night when he gets home. Breakfast--he's on his own.

Thanks, everyone! Loved all the comments. At least I don't feel all alone with this problem.

Awsome! A piss and moan about the husband thread! I am truly in my element here folks. Well, well, well, where shall I start? The breakfast thing, yeah right. He sure likes to gripe about no one fixing him yummy breakfast, but have I ever seen the man eat breakfast in the morning? Maybe like 2 or three times in his life has he eaten breakfast. So then take the fact that he complains about it, like the dip can't eat unless a dozen nude virgins hand feed it to him. I don't pack him a lunch too often because A. He will say he didn't feel like eating B. Forget to take it or C. Con someone at work into buying him lunch, so most of the time what ever I pack gets thrown away. I always cook dinner though, but 40% of the time he will eat cereal instead or be busy doing something else, his reason most of the time is that it's "Just not what he was in the mood for". He absolulty refuses to eat leftovers as well. It's not like I'm a horrible cook either, everybody loves my cooking, he's just a big sissy princess baby is all.

Man that felt good! Thank you CelticGypsy!

Well I'm not technically married, but I do all the cleaning at our house. Oh well, it could be worse I guess.

LOL this is so funny, this is exactly what happens if I happen to put some dinner leftovers in a tupperware for Marty to bring for lunch. That's why I don't bother too often w/ it-- usually the food gets trashed!

Exactly! Do you get your tupperware back atleast? I've gone through three entire sets in the last 2 years My mother in law is a hoot about it, she apologizes to me constantly. But then tells me he's my problem now, LOL!

first of all what is a SAHM?

next, I just have to say that I am reminded yet AGAIN why I am so much better off being SINGLE! Its just not freakin worth it! I am teaching my little one (he's 5) to take his empty dishes to the sink and rinse them. bless his heart he has to stand on something to even reach the faucet, but he does it!
and when he's older, he's going to learn how to vacuum and dust and mop and do his laundry! my brother did it, my dad could do it and my Grandpa did the cooking as well as the housework AND worked...REAL MEN pull their weight. period. without whining either

btw: I have no problem doing the majority of the housework etc, but sometimes its nice to have someone else do something once in awhile.
