Fire Burning (Strangely Bright Mix)

I Love this!!!!!!! She should do a remix album

They make enough music with thier voices that you don't really need too much else musically, just a good beat. Plus, this is a dance mix, so I wanted to keep the energy flowing.

When I jump into Rooms On Fire and Ooh My Love I'll make sure to try and do more with the background music. Those are softer songs too. I just really thought Fire Burning was a sort of tough edged song, so I really pushed for a heavy beat. I think Long Way to Go is going to be hard also, because of it's angry sounding vocal and mean spirited lyrics. I also think Ghosts needs to be very trance and ambient sounding. It's such a beautiful song that I can't see putting a heavy drum track to it.

This remix is smokin' !!!! Got a question. How are you doing this? I fool around a lot with Acid Pro 4.0 Are you using this program or Sound Forge or some other editing software? I love the way you did the ending of the song.

And Richard B, I think Long Way To Go is gonna be next. That one really lends it self to a dance beat, I think.

i can't wait for it!!!...what program do you use to remix these songs?? I have often thought of trying my hand at it, but have always downloaded really crappy free programs that didn't do a thing I wanted it to!!!
Thanx for fire burning, can't wait for long way to go!!!

Thank you so much for all the compliments, everyone.

Actually, SandyMac and desrtangl I use Acid Pro 2.0 (I know, I really need to update my software, LOL). I tend to layer a lot of different instruments together when I make music and use the pitch control function to take a single instrument and make my own melody and basslines. I'm also always on the look for new loops so I have a variety to work with.

And yes, I agree with what many of you had said about a Stevie Remix album. After hearing the club mix of Planets of the Universe I think it would be cool to hear some of today's big DJ's doing their takes on Stevie favorites. I also found an acapella track of Gold And Braid, so maybe that will be a future remix. We'll see.

Keep 'em coming...I'm waiting.

[melly]

you've inspired me to try this!!

You need to purchase it. It is from Sony Media Software

First you buy the Acid software and then you can either download some sound loops or buy them via CD. I just purchased the "Chicago Fire" club music loops.
Still playing around with all the different loops on this set.
