Default New Orleans Beating

The AP just released the tape in it's entirety and Newsnight on CNN covered it for more than half an hour earlier. Did anyone happen to catch it? The new footage shows one of the police officers punching the man twice in the face while he's on the ground (with one officer on top of him, another holding him in a headlock, and another holding his feet), then it shows another officer kicking him in the head.

The tape also disproves the defense's assertion that his face was smashed in by falling on the ground. In reality, his head did not hit the ground; an officer had him in a headlock with stopped that from happening. Also, many of the injuries were on the right side of his face, but he fell on his left side.

I saw it. He looked passive to me. They weren't trying to subdue him or to keep him from "hurting himself"; they were beating the crap out of him. And they'll probably get away with it.

I saw it. I'm just as appalled as the first time I saw it. I cannot believe that slimebag lawyer for the police can sit there and lie like that with a straight face.

You know what disgusted me about that lawyer? He watched it and smiled and laughed throughout. I felt sick.

They will get away with it. Just look at Rodney King. Well, those cops were punished by the federal court, but they were still acquitted at first.

Well if you think you get that from CNN (C stands for Communist) You can have your news! LOL

It makes for a great hour of TV! and I have to say that the members of The Black Panthers are some of the most racist and paranoid individuals I have ever seen.

I only watch two programs on CNN. I watch nothing else, and that includes MSRNC and Faux News. CNN is, for the most part, just as bad as the toher two networks. Crap crap crap.

Don't bring up Rodney King if you want to be taken seriously. He went on to run two cars into walls while drunk and beat up a woman. If anything, he wasn't beaten ENOUGH.

Give me a break. It's obvious that they had to subdue the ****er, but they beat him almost sixty times with their batons, even while officers were kneeling on his back and holding his legs. That's excessive force if I've ever heard of it.

I think these oficers will be convicted if they do not take a plea. That video screams bad acts and ever expert I head commeming on the beatings said the poilice violate the code like when they hit the heads and bak of the next. The only viable defense the poilce have is that the man resisted arrest, which the film somewhat demonstrates as he is fighting not to be cuffed. I think the black jury in Orleans Parish will have no problem convicting these cops if for nothing else, they have probabkly been harrassed by the police more than one time in the past.

Those same experts have said that he could not have truly been resisting arrest when he had not been told he was under arrest and was simply slapped with cuffs. When the Newsnight transcript is posted, I'll find that particular part of the show.

I'd convict based on that sleazy lawyer alone.

Wasn't there a part no one saw on the tape where he was wacked out of his gourd on PCP and was very violent? I read that. And PCP gives you superhuman strength, apparently.
