I'm very liberal, but I don't like The Simpsons. It was good when it was on The Tracey Ullman Show, though.

Liberal in the States is politically speaking Right-wing (VVD) over here. Left wing in America does not exist in the trad. democrate/republican twoparty system. The sort of conservatism they know over there is not big in The Netherlands: maybe SGP-Wilders- e.d. marginal parties come close......
isn't that what we call liberaal? It's just that whenever I hear the word 'liberal' used to describe certain opinions or people, they do mean more left on the political spectrum. I think. I dunno. I guess what WE call links/left, they call commies

Besides, even though Ledgies are the only ones that count... Ledgies aren't the only Mac fans out there.

Everyone knows my political affiliation and sexual orientation already but I just wanted to add that I'm a casual Simpsons fan, basically. I watch it if I see that it's on and I have nothing else to do.

But if we're in the business of stereotyping...I don't think we have very many black FM fans. I know they're out there, but there aren't many, it seems. I knnow we had a thread about this before.

Yes, that's why I called our left side of the political spectrum 'commies'. OT useless knowledge tidbit, the last Dutch regional communist party is right here in Groningen (the province this time, not the city).

I watched The Simpsons twice, it was ok, does that make me a Fleetwood Mac fan?

Well.. if you're gay & white, that does up your chances. Middle-aged usually does it too, at least around here it does.

liberal, yes. Simpsons fans, yes.
But then again so are most intelligent people with good taste.

Are there any self-respecting educated people with good taste out there that aren't liberal (open-minded)?

I have noticed some...

Mostly...
a.) They're Liberal
b.) They love Simpsons

You guys notice any more? Haha. I love it.
A) that is correct
B) hell yeah

Isn't that weird?

That is pretty weird, but nothing's wrong with that

And I've noticed something else: Some of them are dutch-speaking

Topic? I'm 29, white, female, and straight. I've never voted, I don't really identify with any political groups, so....
