Other Tusk outtakes?

I wonder if anyone has information and can confirm that the following songs were true Tusk era outtakes (besides Lindsey's numerous unnamed instrumentals and the Tusk bonus disc):

Beauty and the Beast - stevie
The Dealer - stevie
Take A Little Time -lindsey
Just Because - lindsey (50s retro, possibly a cover, sounds more like a Mirage era outtake)

Am I missing any others? Thanks ahead.

I am under the impression that "Lady From the Mountain" and "Smile at You" by Stevie have Tusk versions. Someone interviewed at The Penguin said that "Smile at You" was not recorded during Tusk, and that Stevie created it on her own with some musician friends, but I just don't believe that. I think it is a Tusk demo. It sounds nothing like the demos that Stevie does herself.

There's only Maureen's word that this was done at Village Recorder in 1979. But since they're all playing together, I don't think it's something done formally in the studio. My guess is it was just tried out by the band during a lull in the 1979 tour rehearsal. I once argued with her about it on Usenet, saying that it was unlikely that the band was either logistically able or inclined to set up all their instruments in some sort of live format & just jam. I think it's far more likely that it was done during a tour rehearsal, so the '79 tour rehearsal makes the most sense.

There are recordings of it with the CP-30, so it was obviously Stevie playing Christine's equipment -- there's no chance in hell that Stevie had her own CP-30. On these recordings, Stevie's vocal is plainly, to my ears, a 1979-era vocal, & the use of the CP-30 practically confirms that. Still, to call something a Tusk "outtake" is to imply that it was intended for album consideration, but that's not necessarily the case with a lot of these things of Stevie's. She has said many times that while Lindsey & Christine & the engineers were busy with some technicality, she'd go off to her own corner with an instrument & record her own songs. You can't really extrapolate from those situations that some song was strictly speaking an outtake.

A point well-taken! The term "outtake" is so often misused and misconstrued. A lot of these pieces are of the Tusk era, but not neccessarily considered for inclusion on the album.
