Shotgun Express recorded two singles, didn't they?
"I Could Feel The Whole World Turn 'Round Underneath Me" / "Curtains" and "Funny 'Cos Neither Could I" / "Indian Thing" I have a Rod Stewart limited box called "1964 - 1969" (see the attached photo). It contains 2 CDs of music and a third CD with photos of Rod... The sleeve notes says that these are all of Rod's recordings from this era (including some demos), with the exception of his work with the Jeff Beck group. The box was released in 2000 and has lots of info and photos, but the Shotgun Express photos do not feature Peter Green... The only track from Shotgun Express is "I Could Feel...", so I assume the other songs they recorded featured were instrumentals and/or featured Beryl Marsden as the lead singer.. The sleeve notes say that the "I Could Feel..." single featured Peter Green on guitar, but that he had left to join Mayall before it was RELEASED..? John Moorshead then took over for Peter, and later Phil Sawyer. Here is the info for "I Could Feel...": Single. A-side for Columbia DB 8025 Release Date: 21 October 1966 Vocals: Rod Stewart/Beryl Marsden Guitar: Peter Green Bass: Dave Ambrose Drums: Mick Fleetwood Keyboards: Peter Bardens Produced by: Tony Palmer So maybe Peter did play on that single after all? I don't know. Though I'm pretty sure he did not play on thir second single!! Furthermore the box includes "Stone Crazy" (with Peter on guitar), which to my knowledge is only officially available on the LP called something like "History Of The British Blues". ![]() Daniel |
