Default Round 4 - Dave Mason

really great - but the contribution to the Mac was slight - and that is VERY sad and blame it on Mick!

Default Round 4- Bill Burnette

Mason played guitar MUCH better and wrote much better songs in Fleetwood Mac then Billy.

Are you serious? Obviously, Dave was the better guitarist, but then Billy is only a rhythm guitarist. But "In The Back Of My Mind," "When The Sun Goes Down," and "Talkin' To My Heart" kill ANYTHING Dave did in Fleetwood Mac. Now, if we were talking cumulative careers, I'd put Dave over Billy, but in terms of Mac tenure, Billy wins. And this coming from a guy who used to run a Dave Mason website!

IMO Blow by Blow and I Wonder Why kill anything Billy did, ITBOMM is the only thing that comes close. Those other 2 songs suck to me. And heh, I dont even own anything Dave's done outside of Fleetwood Mac, so I am going purely by those two's Fleetwood Mac work, and to me Dave was better. Maybe considering how much I like his Fleetwood Mac work, I should venture out and get his other stuff.

1. (worth two immunities) On December 6, 1987, during the Fleetwood Mac concert at the Inglewood Forum, Stevie Nicks told the crowd, "I would like to fix that." To whom or what did "that" refer?

2. (worth two immunities) On October 2, 1983, during the Stevie Nicks concert at the Inglewood Forum, a stuffed cat was thrown onstage. What did Stevie do with the stuffed cat?

3. This longtime friend & associate worked with Fleetwood Mac as part of the crew on several tours & also provided studio assistance to the band on many occasions. He was known for years as "The Beaver." What is this person's real name?
1.

2. David, did she pick up the cat, stroke it and say "Nice pussy."?

3. Dennis Dunstan

Wow. I'm speechless. I honestly can't disagree with you more, and I'm a Mason die-hard.

Well, if you've never heard his other stuff, you're in for a REAL treat. Now, a lot of his stuff is out of print, but that's okay. I'm going to recommend three albums (two studio albums and one compilation) that will give you a great overview on Dave's career. The first album is Traffic's self-titled, second album. Second is Dave's first solo album, "Alone Together." Both albums are about as close to perfect as you can get. Not a single bad song on either. These albums both received critical acclaim. The third album is a compilation that covers his CBS years, and most of those albums are no longer in print. While the songs that are featured on it aren't necessarily MY favorites from those albums, it's still an excellent place to start.

Traffic - Traffic
Dave Mason - Alone Together
Dave Mason - Long Lost Friend: The Best Of Dave Mason (CBS Years)

Now, there's an album that is out of print, but can be found pretty easily on Amazon in which you may be interested. It's a one-off he did with "Mama" Cass Elliot.
