my very brief cincinnati recap

Hey everyone...I will make this quick since I have a lot to do today...pictures will come shortly!

Wow! Stevie was, as I expected, in TOP FORM!

Despite my worries of having to sit in the lawn, I managed to pull up two Row 4 PIT seats yesterday afternoon around 1:00pm. The way the pit was set up, the rows in front of us had fewer seats, so even though we were far to the left (right in front of Al), we had no seats directly in front of us. So we got right to the stage for Edge :-)

Rather than go through each song one by one, I'll just kind of list a few of my thoughts.

-She opened with "Enchanted". Has she always been doing this? For some reason I thought she had been opening with Outside the Rain?

-Stop Draggin' was next...then OTR/Dreams.

-As OTR was starting, over the music, Stevie said "No rain! No rain!" a few times, because it had been POURING on our drive down.

-There were some problems with Brett's amp during the beginning of Sorcerer and Stevie said "oh no!" a few times...she looked confused as to whether or not she should keep singing, but they eventually got it fixed.

-Funniest part of the night: during one song (can't remember which), the little box thing to Stevie's ear monitor (the one she wears in a little pouch on her waist) came out of the pouch. She held it up to someone off stage, who ran out and tried to fix it. While she was singing she sort of played around with him and waved her arms around him...very playful despite the little mishap. He ended up just handing it to her, and she held it until the song was over. Between songs, she fixed it and said "A wardrobe malfunction! Only nobody ever talk about this one!". Oh Stevie...you card!

-She apologized for reading her little one.org speech, but it was so cute :-)

-"Rock and Roll" was INTENSE. I have not seen her get THAT into a song in a LONG TIME. That might have just been my favorite song of the night.

-While I would have loved to have heard "I Need to Know", "Landslide" was beautiful. She introduced the song by saying "This is one you all know...so I don't need to say anything about it...take it away, girls"...and Sharon and Jana sang beautiful harmonies, as Jana mentioned they would in her Q&A. So while it is still "Landslide" it is a very different "Landslide", with amazing vintage photos and videos of Stevie on the screen throughout the song.

-The background image for "Sorcerer" was creepy as hell. A drawing of a young girl, with some kind of demon on her back, peering over her shoulder. Very weird.

-The crowd was very chill. Everyone stood the whole time, and nobody was obnoxious or rowdy. During the Edge rush, people were calm and patient. There was NOBODY pushing behind me. It was great.

She did appear to be banging her head for this song, did she not?

She also played a pretty mean air guitar!

Thanks, Josh! And congrats on the last minute pit seats!

I love the wardrobe malfunction comment....and I've been saying forever that I wish she would do a video retrospective thing, like Cher did. I was fully expecting that in Vegas after the Jim Ladd interview....although I would prefer INTK, I'm looking forward to the video-enhanced version of Landslide!

No - she never had photos and film clips for Landslide in Vegas... and nothing of the sort for Sorcerer either... They seem to be rolling out little differences with these screens which makes me think that the next time she's in Vegas... there will be the promised video clips and pics etc. to back her up!!

Wow, I'm looking forward to it. Nice to see she's embracing her inner goth girl.
