Stevie did say that she thought they'd work together again. Why do you say no new album and just touring?

Stevie is touring right now without a new album, no?

The Eagles do it all the time. Taku as well as others have said they will tour for the 40th anniversary of Rumours starting next summer. (Taku said next summer...I guess that could change but I believe it) When Stevie says "working together" I do not think she means for one second "new album" , she means touring.

I think we'll see a new album and tour. They've always spoken of a 5-year run, which would most likely mean a new album. If they only mean touring, I would settle..

I think she meant the 40th anniversary of the band. And yes, Virginia, there was a band pre 1977. Who knew?

I would definetly say yes to touring and a new album possibly in 07, but I wouldn't be surprised if SYW was the last album.

I think I read that somewhere Stevie said that she'd be out touring with the Mac within two years or in two years. I don't think she said anything about a new album, but you never know.

i hate to be a nay-sayer but my thoughts are -

don't hold your breath.

what's more likely is -

some more re-issues, a stevie solo album, a lindsey solo album, the cd release of Buckingham Nicks,

and a possible Stevie/Lindsey album separate from Fleetwood Mac.

I think the whole Say You Will experience was exhausting for the band and I'm not sure any of them are interested in repeating it again.
Personally - I really liked the record, but I think the sales were disappointing for the band and the label. I'd love to see them get into more of an indie/self-release/website/mp3 mode and tour more frequently. But that's just me...

I agree about the reissues. I think we'll see the rest of the "Rumours" era stuff remastered, as well as "Then Play On," "Kiln House," and maybe "Mystery To Me."

But, I SERIOUSLY doubt we'll see the CD release of Buckingham Nicks or a Buckingham Nicks II anytime soon. Stevie and Lindsey both know that anything they do will sell better with Fleetwood Mac than without Fleetwood Mac.

I agree to a point. I doubt we'll ever see anything of that magnitude from them ever again. What I see happening is 40 dates a year, or every-other-year. A lot of older artists actually prefer this because it's a bit more informal, they get to see their fans more often, and they make more money in the end. Though, personally, I like David's idea where they do more "acoustic" tours, with Lindsey only playing acoustic guitars, Mick playing the coctail drums, and maybe John playing the double bass. And, just Stevie and Lindsey singing, no backing vocals.

Does John play double bass? Because the two are apples and oranges. Just because you can play one, DEFINITELY doesn't mean you can play the other(at least without ****loads of practice). Double bass is far more difficult, IMO.

I think he can play double bass. I recall that he actually plays slap-double bass when he's just playing around at home. So who knows? Also, there was that pic of him on the BTM CD booklet of him playing a double bass, but I never read anything into those.

I'll have to pull out BTM and take a look(I only play it about 1-2 times a year now ). A quick example of apples and oranges- mandolin and violin are exactly the same tuning, with roughly the same scale (length, in regards to fingerings). Most violin players (well, fiddle players, for the sake of my argument), can pick up mandolin, without a whole lot of effort. Visa-versa isn't true. Why? The magical fret! The cheater's dream. Perfect pitch isn't required. Just stick your finger between the metal, and you're in business.
Trust me from personal effort, playing anything fretless is a CHORE! I've been at violin (fiddle) for 5 years, with varied results!

I hear ya! I played a double bass a few times, also with varied results. Actually, John COULD cheat and get fret markers painted on the neck of a double bass.

I don't think we'll see another album but I do think they will do something for their 40th anniversary.

All members past and present could get together for a big bash (would Mick talk to Bob Weston? would Christine talk to Dave Mason?) they could sell tickets just to watch them fight! I'd buy one!

A Lindsey solo Album? Now that is funny given his track record with his solo stuff, & I really don't think a Stevie/Lindsey album separate from the Mac would ever happen. A Stevie solo album, yeah, now that is a possibility
