The 60's are over. The only way to change things is from changing the system from within. Protests, hunger strikes, ...etc just causes the opposite reaction from most people. I get tired of people trying to capture something that was a particular place and time. Can't be repeated. Sorry they missed the 60's/70's, but move on. They come off as walking-steriotypes. The old ways no longer has the same impact, so do something more productive.
Also, these issues are not so simple. Okay they raise a bunch of money for Africa relief. (yet again) but the corruption in those countries is never addressed, the culture has negative social aspects, and it is a short term messure rather than a long term solution. The people that honestly need it never get the help. Sounds like a waste of time to me. Need to face the fact that not all problems are solved by throwing money at them. Live Aid 8 will just be blip on the radar and will be forgotten before the last note fades away. Sound bite 30 seconds then gone.
