You aren't the only one. I do not like this song at all. It is one of my least favorite Stevie songs.

When I first became a Stevie fan, Leather and Lace was one of my ultimate favorites. Since then it has been demoted, but for some reason, I still like the song, despite the sappy lyrics. Maybe because of them!? I don't know. There's something about it, her voice sounds really pure....

I always skip it. If it were a concert staple it would mean a fluid break.

Thank gawd it's not a concert staple. Can you imagine this at a FM show? Stevie and Lindsey singing it? Fluid break, definitely.

I imagine Lindsey would rather get up onstage and sing "I'm a Little Teapot" before singing L and L with Stevie.

Although he did surprise me by playing it for her and Don at City of Hope. Methinks that was more for Stevie at the time...

Stevie was asked to write him a song for a duet with his girlfriend/wife. But by the time the song was finished waylon and his woman broke up and he wanted to sing the song as a solo as opposed to a duet. Stevie said that the song was written with the intentions of it being sung as a duet so she then decided to record it with Don Henley.
