Yup. Them there millionaires and people who make hundreds of thousands yearly are going to needlessly suffer. But, hey, at least they'll be doing it in style with their Gucci and ridiculously extravagant homes.

Define "ridiculously extravagant homes" - I would suggest that to many, no one needs half the stuff you sell them - yet you sell it My point is not to scold you, but to point out that the minute someone says "you don't need that" or "you live too high on the hog" watch out - because ya better be willing to have that standard applied to everyone and I can assure you that those dumpster digging impoverished people you were just championing would look on the way you live your life with scorn and disdain - I mean they do not vacation in Maine, they do not have a cool car, they do not have a cool computer, they do not have all the cash they need, etc.

Thus, I conclude no one ought to tell anyone how to live lest they be willing to have that harsh light turned on their lives by those less fortunate than they are.

Didn't we get into a big fight about this awhile back and you told me to piss off I suspect its coming again

No one needs to hire someone to design the decor in their living space, it's a luxury. I would never presume to call it anything different. I have tons of **** that I don't need and I do plenty of things that I don't need to do. Your point? I don't live in an extravagnat home, I live in an apartment that's no different from most. You make it seem that anyone who sympathizes with those who don't have as much as they do is somehow a dirty person. That logic is f*cked up.

I've already said I'm willing to pay much more taxes than I already do. Raise my taxes, go ahead. I don't spend close to what I make, so I have no need for all of it. The money I make is obscene and I don't keep it all. I've always wanted to open a homeless shelter, as I've said before, and I will one day. I grew up without a lot of things because we were poor, I know the value of a dollar. I worked in a welfare office for several years, I know what people go through and I've seen it firsthand. Forgive me if we have different views on how the less fortunate out there should be treated.

Diss,

You are once again missing my point. I think that the poor should get all the help we can give. That is why I said no tax on the first $30,000 of income - which clearly addresses that problem But, I fail to see how a 20% total cap on all taxes in any way hurts the poor, esp. if wasteful spending is stopped. So, stop talking about me saying the poor should not get help, etc., or that I differ with you on that point. I do not.

SO WHAT?

You willing to help pay for their healthcare? You willing to help them put food on the table for their kids? You willing to start calling for an end to these offensive welfare laws? Don't make them pay taxes, that sounds wonderful. But what about the other stuff? Raise taxes on the rich and start implementing more services for the poor with those funds.

I do not think it requires raising taxes and am a little taken aback that you automatically assume it does. Have you ever looked into wasteful govt. spending. I have and it sickens me to know that all of the money we all give essentially goes to promote that. So, I say stop that first and we'll see how much money the govt. really needs to help everyone. But, to make anyone pay 70% of what they make is insane, which is not the same as saying the poor do not deserve every beak they can get.

Ha. The day we eliminate wasteful government spending is the day monkeys fly out of my arse and fly me to Oz.

And I have not argued that anyone should pay 70% in taxes, that's absurd.
