The show was great. I almost didn't go due to lack of enthusiam on my part. I have to say that both Don and Stevie were in top form. They have great chemistry together. The only thing that would have topped it is if Lindsey was playing guitar. Also, Don's voice sounded much better than when I saw the Eagles a couple of months ago. His set rocked.

You could tell Stevie was having a lot of fun. Her voice sounded better than ever and she was looking hot hot hot. The crowd was really into it, at least up front.

Stevie singing Hotel California was a highlight as well as their duet on Circle Dance. Stevie said Bonnie Raitt was a big influence on one of them and that Bonnie wrote the song about her father.

I's estimate that the Wachovia Center was about 85% full at best, but the crowd was enthusiastic and loud.

Met Chris Nicks briefly backstage before the show and he seemed like a pretty nice guy.

For those of you doing the backstage thing at Holmdel, it's well worth it. Very nice setup, at least in Philly. Met some really nice people. I was told that there were 75 signed up for the Holmdel show.

Sorry, I'm a guy so I don't notice all that stuff. LOL

Yes, there was a movie playing in the background during Beauty and the Beast. Stevie's hair was up and she was wearing a black formal-type dress. I usually can't stand this song, but since she sang it with a very powerful and emotionalvoice, I couldn't help but like it .

Rhiannon was good because her voice sounded so good. I was not too impressed with Waddy on guitar.

Yes, her and Don were very flirty. I don't know if I would call it romantic though. They did hug a few times.

Just got back from Philadelphia and skimmed through this long-ass thread. Geez, don't you kiddies go out on Friday nights?

Here are my random observations:

-Stevie nailed the "Is-there-anyone-else-in-the-whole-wide-world-that-could-ever-replace-me?" at the end of OTR.

-During Don's set, Stevie was wearing black spandex bellbottom tights with sparkly things. Over this she was wearing a black gauzy billowy top (that came down to her thighs) and over this she wore a long black tailored jacket.

-Girlfriend looked HOT. I haven't seen her since SYW, and my goodness, I don't remember seeing her this small. Her hair also had a subtle wavy curl to it and was very layered in back.

-For "Rhiannon" she trotted out what appears to be a new black kimono-ish gauzy top with long billowy sleeves along with a cinched in obi-corset like thing. It showed off her new figure very well.

-For "Edge of Seventeen" she appeared to be wearing the "Gypsy" dress from the Mirage concert video- something cream colored with hankerchief hems and lots of beading.

-She wore spaghetti straps under her cloak during BATB. I haven't seen those shoulders since the 1980s!

-Not only did she sing harmony with Don, I should mention that she sang entire verses solo. I particularly liked the feeling she brought to "This is Your Last Worthless Evening."

-The crowd reaction to "Circle Dance" SUCKED! It was the first and only number during Stevie's set that the audience (on the floor) sat down. And as usual, the drunken skankchicks did their beer/bathroom runs during this song. The nerve! The song was ratcheted down in key... but it was a really pleasant surprise.

-Even though "Leather and Lace" was also done in a lower key, Don turned beet red trying to hit the high harmony notes.

He's such a tool.

-It appears that a lot of the background visuals were the same ones shown in Vegas, including, yes, those unicorns! But instead of one big monolithic screen, there were five separate panels. It was definitely the most "produced" Stevie tour I've ever seen.

-There was no pressing of the flesh at the end of Edge of Seventeen since the stage was several feet away from the front row. Instead, she just kind of bent over and waved at people and smiled.

-The Stand Back high kick was in full force!

In general, I was impressed by all of the unexpected twists and surprises. Yes, most of the set was the same ol', same ol'... but the Bonnie Raitt tune, the Byrds tune, and 8 duets... I was duly impressed. And vocally she was about as spot-on as I've ever seen her. Not a single bad note or a flubbed line on the new (to Stevie) songs. I really felt like she really pushed herself for these shows.

Well, I'll save the *extensive* reviews for the more regular posters, but after reading the TWENTY-SIX pages of this thread when I got home, I figured I might as well contribute. First off, and surprising no one mentioned, Sharon walked across stage, joined Stevie at centerstage for a part in Edge (??), and then just returned. Random, yes, but really neat. Also for SYWTBARARS, they put the words up on the two projector screens, which was absolutely hilarious. The two of them seemed to be having a great time during it, and it definitely pumped up the crowd.

Other answers: Stevie twirled a lot, especially during SB. 12 or so, I think. She also did the kick. BATB had the video in the background. (A side note on that: It looked like the same videos and images that were used in Vegas were used earlier tonight. Not exactly sure of ALL of them, but from what I've seen of the Vegas shows, I'd say at least 90% were used.) Rhiannon -- although not a big fan myself -- was pretty spectacular. There was a lot of energy and the crowd loved it!!!! Stevie's hair was very crimpy with bangs, but it looked really good. She had it up -- a la Las Vegas -- during BATB. As for her and Don's "chemistry," I was absolutely blown away. The highlight for me was during GDW when she sings "Rulers make bad lovers..." and "Lousy lovers...," she pointed directly at Don. It was amazing. He kinda shrugged it off playfully, but it was just really neat to see their chemistry. During CD, the two slow-danced on-stage briefly, which the crowd loved. They hugged a lot and were very playful throughout the night.

For me, at least, there were more surprises tonight than at Vegas. When she showed up on Hotel California, I was floored. Didn't see that one coming. And the cover songs. And the duets on songs I wasn't expecting. It was just amazing and a really neat experience to be there on opening night, when I had no idea of what to expect. Interestingly enough, I thought her voice got better as the night when on and Don's got worse. Of course, we all agree to disagree, but I just wanted to point that out.

I'm sure I've left plenty out, but I wanted to mention a few things. I'm sure more specific questions can be answered by others, but I wanted to do my part!! All in all, it was absolutely incredible. Absolutely incredible.

Glad to hear she was beautiful (even though I already new that!) Sounds like she is wearing her hair a little different. And, yes ever since the SYW tour has ended I think Stevie has been on a diet. She shrinks in every new picture we see!

OTR rocks live! She nailed those gibberish lines in Vegas too and it was just so cool. How does she do that? I have been trying to sing along to that OTR bootleg and I just can't make my voice sound that cool.

Did you take any pictures? Were camera's allowed?

I can't wait to hear Stevie on Hotel California. It sounds like Stevie was the star of the night, but it wasn't like Don was booed off the stage, was it? Also, could you tell who was sitting around you, if they were Stevie or Don fans? I mean, did the Stevie fans sit during Don't set and vice versa or was everyone just having a great time regardless of who they were there to see? Also, what kind of fans does Don have?

I took a few pictures, but I'm pretty sure they didn't come out too well. Originally, my friend and I had seats about 4 rows from the top of the venue, and a worker came up to us with FLOOR TICKETS!! The best part was, he said he needed to get rid of them. So, the 200-section people were all kind of seated together, and it gave us a good laugh or two for the night. Sorry, I digress. Back to the pictures. I'm not sure if they were "allowed," but EVERYONE had their cell phones up in the air taking pictures and there were plenty of other flashes, so I figured "Why not?!?"

Stevie was by FAR the star of the night. I (unlike most here) am a pretty big fan of Don (his music, not his personality per se), but when she came out halfway through HC, the place just went nuts. Absolutely crazy. You kind of felt bad for Don, because he's still in the middle of singing and here comes Stevie and the crowd goes wild. Despite this, and his joke that he was her opening act, the place was so energetic for both of them. So, yes, everyone was just having a great time regardless of whom they went to see. All the Stevie Fans shared their Stevie "knowledge" with the section. And all the Don Fans shared their Don "knowledge" with the section. It's tough to say what kind of fans he has, but, like I said, everyone -- or at least those near me -- enjoyed both aspects of the show. It blended quite nicely.

And, also, quick question. I was just over on an Eagles' website, and someone posted that SYWTBARARS was "an audible," and I had NO idea what that meant. The poster said it looked like L&L should have ended it, but they continued. Like I said, the two of them looked like they were having a great time during this song, laughing and interacting with each other, so who knows about the spontaneity of it?!? But, like I asked, does anyone know what "an audible" would mean?? Thanks!!

Don was definitely not booed, but I don't think he got nearly the warm reception that Stevie got. When "Hotel California" started, I could see this short little mic stand that suddenly appeared next to Don, so I sorta knew what was coming... but still, when she sauntered slowly to the stage to join Don on the chorus, the entire place went apesh*t! And it was very apparent to me that most of the people sitting around me were Stevie fans, or at least they fit the, um, Stevie fan idiom (shawls, glitter, Klonopin-era hair

, etc.) Hearing Stevie sing the first few lines of the second verse of HC was kinda unsettling actually; I'm so used to hearing Don on it. But she managed to pull it off really well... her voice was kinda "Rasp a Little" era at first, but smoothed out later on.

Another cutesy moment was at the end of LnL when Stevie sings "Take from me my lace" and Don is tugging at the fringe of her lacy shawl. He seemed like he was in such a bad mood the whole night, but every once in a while he would smile... probably just thinking about all of the money he just made.

I could tell that a lot of pictures of this show will circulate... there were lots of flash bulbs a-poppin'.
