Yes the will be the minority again, and if they take it away--it will definetely come back and bite them...

There are a couple of republicans who dont believe this is a good idea actually, like Mccain said "we wont always be the majority"

Eh, McCain can blow me. He's too concerned with steroid use to be bothered with anything else and he's got the backbone of a jellyfish.

It's going to be years and years and years before we ever see a Democrat (or, oh my, a Green or Independent) in the White House. The Republicans have a well-oiled machine and the Democrats, bless their hearts, would lose a black basketball in a sterile white room. It's just that the longer the Rethugs are running this country, the harder it is for anyone else to get in there and do anything.

On another note, Air America is kicking ass and I'd like to extend my middle finger to all the Repuglican naysayers out there who said it would fail within in a year. How wrong they were! And a special shout out to my local girl Rachel Maddow, she's a fierce chick and her AAR show is just as good as her old one! Check her out if you haven't heard her, it's great that she's national now.

I personally think the Republicans will be able to get all the votes to pass this...and they will REGRET it someday...

I haven't been following incredibly closely, but I think it's a huge mistake to make filibusters not allowed. Huge. Ginormous. And yes, like Diss, I think they are just trying to change the rules when the rules don't suit them, like a bunch of three year old's playing tag. "oh, wait, I'm not it because the tree is the new base, you can't tag me now" etc. If you see what I mean.

I love Rachel but she's on at like four in the morning here.

Well I unfortunately think the Republicans will succeed on this, and it will be a big mistake in the future for them.... Cheney is already standing by waiting to break a tie....
You know I love how in the debate with Edwards he claimed he had never met Edwards until that night and the he is up in the Senate "most Tuesdays" -- you know I watch the Senate a lot on CSPAN, and I have NEVER seen Cheney there..but in fact Cheney is RARELY in the Senate presiding on Tuesdays, he is on Capitol Hill, but usually having lunch with republican friends...

I'm not so sure the Democrats will be able to win back a majority in Congress in the next few years, but it will happen eventually--and they will pay the price
