Were W.C. Fields & Franklin Pangborn friends?

Perhaps - but The Bank Dick was on last night, and it has one of my fav. lines in it - something like this "the bank dick was seen in the Black Pussy" which was a local watering hole named after a cat

I have no clue what you're talking about, but it's already f*ckin' hilarious!!!

I've no idea, but I see you've been watching Never Give A Sucker An Even Break. Great movie, it's hilarious. Margaret Dumont is superb as Mrs. Hemoglobin.

They broadcast it tonight although I didn't watch -- I have all those movies on video. I'm just thinking of all the times they co-starred: Never Give a Sucker, International House ("you're in Wu-hu"), The Bank Dick.

Pangborn was in most of the good American movies of the '30s & '40s. Preston Sturges used him in four or five of his best movies, & Mitchell Leisen did too.
