Multiple Mac shows - why?

I agree completely. And being a student, disposable cash is hard to come by. If they're not going to change it up, I can't justify the expenditure.

That's why it makes me mad that I missed David Bowie when he played Austin. I found out after the fact that he changes up the setlist every night! Ugh. I have a feeling though that this won't be his last tour. I think a lot of people thought that this might be the Mac's last outing so they oversaturated themselves. Totally understandable! If I had had the money, I would have been at the Boston DVD taping show no doubt about it!

Personally, I don't foresee Fleetwood Mac ever touring again, but that's just one blokes opinion. I think we might get one more studio album in about five years, but not much else. The Boston show (the 24th) was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, though. The crowd and the band were in overdrive. I was *exhausted* when it was over.

I always try to catch as many Bowie shows as possible (same with Blondie).

The Heathen tour was my favorite because he played the entire Low and Heathen albums at one of the shows I went to, then played the entire Heathen album with a bunch of different songs at another show. His live shows kick ass. I mean, I have a bootleg from last June where he actually plays Lyzza Jane and The Supermen!

Get OUT!!! I would have LOVED to have seen/heard this!

I bet the casual fans were pissed when he only played Heathen and Low at one of the shows!!

I noticed that someone uploaded it on EasyTree last night, so there should be tons of seeders if you want to grab it.

It's the same show where he rips one of the security guards a new asshole during Man Who Sold the World and tells him to get out of his show.

He opened with Speed of Life and there were quite a few people scratching their heads, but I think they either got used to the set or just sulked in disappointment by the time he reached Warszawa.

When he was done with both albums, he did some other ones like Hallo Spaceboy (which I *love* live and never get sick of) and Fashion. His sets are loooooooooooong.

And worthy every g.d. penny! I paid less for the Bowie show than any show on the SYW tour and Bowie delivers night after night, after night, after night, after night...amazing. He's like the Energizer Bunny. And dude's up there in age too yet there's nothing "tired" about his shows at all . To echo your sentiment, Hallo Spaceboy is my favorite live song hands down.

Not to mention he had heart surgery right in the middle of the tour!

I actually managed to pay less for Fleetwood Mac than for Bowie in 2003/2004 since I was able to get up to Milwaukee for the Mac at Summerfest.

Hi, Jyqm! Your question is a good one. A long time ago, I used to see Fleetwood every time, probably because I was young. Today, I'm not, so I don't see the band. They play nearby at Irvine Meadows but I just blow it off. My fanaticism is nothing but embers by now, feeding off its own char & nitrogen; the phalanx of Time & Circumstance have trodden it into the desert sands of a live already lived.

My memories of sultry summer evenings watching the band play outdoors (you couldn't see the stars or the moon because Los Angeles is too smoggy) seem like millennia ago -- not just a different time in my life but a different lifetime altogether. Cold are the Hands of Time, Jyqm, in their relentless, inexorable march across the Face of Life's Fortunes.

Hey, no pity for casual fans who go to a Bowie show expecting just the hits!

Kids oughta do their homework before they buy their tickets. That goes double for casual Neil Young fans...

I mean, hey, if you want to see a concert that plays to the lowest common denominator, just wait until Fleetwood Mac rolls back into town...
