Default Judy Wong's death confirmed

Hi all, I just wanted to take a minute and confirm what was mentioned this morning. Bob Welch just called me and told us she did pass away, at home, of a heart attack. She'd had heart problems for years, and had a massive heart attack ten years ago, and was having some health issues as of late. She was hospitalized, but checked herself out against doctor's advice, and unfortunately died at home. Bob just found out today, and told me I could post what we discussed here at the Ledge.

He had such nice things to say about her; she was a major part of Mac history-- she'd been his girlfriend for a brief while, and introduced him to the Fmac scene. She had been married to bassist Glen Cornick for awhile, who was in Bob Welch's band Paris. I believe he said she'd also helped w/ the FM tourbooks for many years, and that recently she'd been working w/ the Yardbirds.

Mageboy25, how did you hear about Judy's death? Bob was surprised that we were already aware of it.

He said Mick was in the process of trying to get a memorial together for her, as she really had no family.

In several of those Rumours ers backstage tapes, you can catch glimpses of Judy here and there, behind the scenes. She was a friend of the band from the very beginning, and I'm sure she'll be missed by all of them.

We here at the Penguin would like to say how sorry we are to hear of her passing, and we thank her for her role in looking after the people in the band we all love so much.

-Lis

Extremely sad news indeed.

Judy was always such an enigma, and I had always wanted to learn more about her... hoping perhaps she'd one day do a Q&A here with us.
What I do know about her though, is that she was a beloved member of Fleetwood Mac's extended family, and I'm sure they'll each miss her deeply.

Wow. I didn't exactly know Judy personally, but met her a couple times and purchased a lot of Fleetwood Mac memorabilia from her fairly recently. She seemed like a very sweet lady. My thoughts are with her friends & loved ones.

I'm very, very sorry to hear about this. After reading that post this morning, I was hoping that it wasn't true. She was a part of Fleetwood Mac pretty much from the very beginning. My condolences to her friends & of course, to the various members of Fleetwood Mac who knew & loved her. This is very sad news indeed.

Judy is mentioned several times in Mick's book, and also appeared in the Mick DVD. She seemed to be a good person.

RIP.
