Default Radio station 97.5 The Hawk talks FM new album...

Driving home from work tonight, New Jersey radio station 97.5 The Hawk played Stand Back and after, the DJ commented, "that was Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac...Rumours era Fleetwood Mac are going to be going into the studio soon to record a new album so we'll be hearing from them at the end of this year, beginning of 2006...good news from their camp."

Of course, i'm assuming Rumours era is everyone sans Christine but just thought i'd share this bit of good news

Hmmm...that is interesting! Hopefully it's true. I never take what they say on the radio totally seriously, but can't help but get excited at the same time.

Speaking of the radio......I heard Frozen Love on the radio today! I was so incredibly shocked. I've never heard a BN song on the radio before!

i don't see how this is remotely possible. I'd LOVE for it to be true. Of course I also want Lindsey to release his solo album, UH OH. A thought just crossed my mind, what if Lindsey;s already gone into his "i'm converting this into a FM album stage and after stevie's brief tour she'll be adding songs.

You know what, you should really call up that radio station and ask them where they got that info from. It really seems pretty danmed impossible.

Yeah, sorry folks but there is 0% chance of this being true. It seems like someone just found their press release for the VBoFM and saw the line about going into the studio to release an album in '03. Stevie and Mick have, very recently (about two weeks ago) said that Fleetwood Mac is not doing anything in the foreseeable future. They're on break. NO CHANCE. NONE. ZERO.

I can't see this being true. Stevie as we all know is going to be on tour with or without Don soon. I am sure that she is in some kind of rehearsal for that tour.

Lindsey, well we all know is going to release his solo album very soon and do a tour to support it.

PS. Lindsey where are you? We need some kind of news!

My little fanboy theory remains that Stevie is touring this summer to keep active (and maybe promote her remastered back catalog) while Lindsey readies his new album and then possibly does a mini-tour to promote it. Then they'll all (well, minus Chris) head back into the studio by the second quarter of 2006, to work on a new Mac album... "from the ground up."

Hey... I can dream, can't I?

I've learned to take everything that DJs say with a grain of salt. They really seem to know NOTHING.

Mick very recently mentioned that he wanted to get the original Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac line-up in the studio recording by the end of this year. Mick said this at the recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction last month. The chances of the definitive Rumours line-up ever recording again are slim and none. That may be what this erroneous radio report is about.

Are you guys saying there is zero to no chance of FM EVER recording again?? I mean the Rumours era sans Chris. I think it is possible that they could record another album...they all talked about it quite often during SYW. I know what Mick said at the RRHOF but Stevie did say "so when we go back again it will be fabulous". Maybe they will do what they did after TISL..she will come off the road and start in the studio after Christmas. I just don't understand the general consensus that they are never ever going to record together again when everything they said in the last few years indicated otherwise. I remember Lindsey saying he would never do solo again and focus on the Mac if Stevie wanted to go back in after the tour wrapped.
Has sooooo much changed all the sudden that I am unaware of? Mick not wanting to give a definative answer is not unusual if nothing is set in stone. I am skeptical of the Peter Green comment too although I would love it to happen.

All those waiting for Lindsey solo are going to be waiting a long time. He will roll all the songs once again into another Mac album. Realistically, he has worked on GoS for over ten years..certainly he should have ten or 12 songs ready. (even with the nine on SYW) If he really wanted to get it out, he would have. I know he said he was writing again and if that is the case...there is even less of a chance of those songs making a solo album. It will take him a four or five years to tweak and get them right. Perfectionist that he is. Sorry for being a Debbie Downer but I am STILL waiting for the GoS album he said was 90 percent done during the friggin Dance and the tour he said was happening in the summer of 01 on his BTM.

Last week on KQRS in Minneapolis I heard a dj say that the Mac was going on tour this summer....she said, "they'll kick off the tour May 8 in Madison and will be in Green Bay on May 12." Hmmmm...sounds familiar, especially since I was at both of those shows! I immediately started laughing my butt off. The poor thing was reading outdated info from fleetwoodmac.com! She then went on to inform us that you can get great seats through the fan club...I don't believe what I hear on the radio anymore, 'cause most of the time djs are misinformed or like someone else mentioned, they are reading old material.

I, too, think it's very plausible that Mick, John, Stevie, and Lindsey will record again. It certainly sounded to me all the way through SYW that they were having fun together, and at the end of the tour, there was no indication that I remember that it was over for good. I took the comments at the RRHOF to indicate that they were on a break, but not over for good.

As for the Lindsey solo thing, I will be a double Debbie Downer. I don't think it'll ever happen. I think Mick and Stevie and John will come knocking again long before he is ready to put out any new collection of songs, and that they will morph again into a FM album. Which will make me happy. I think Lindsey, the mega perfectionist, is just far more secure in his band. He needs other people to say, "okay,Lindsey, it is good, it's fabulous, you can't make it any better." Also, the reality of the music biz today is that unless Lindsey puts out an album on an indie label, it ain't gonna happen. If Warners had concerns two years ago, they aren't going to suddenly be feeling more like taking a risk now. He's been out of the scene for too long as a solo name (aside from real FM and LB fans, the average person on the street under 30 wouldn't know his name) and he doesn't quite meet the, er, demographic that the fabricated world that is today's music "biz" is after. I think that's a GOOD thing - but it means us fans will have to wait and just hope FM gets back together (which I think they will) or hope Linds sucks it up and puts out his album himself or on an indie label.

The radio report referred to Rumours era Fleetwood Mac. That will never happen again, in my opinion. That's what I was referring to, not Rumours era sans Christine, which will be pretty much a 50/50 chance of happening at best, in my opinion.
