As for the swallowing thing, I say if it ends up in your mouth it just makes far more sense to let it continue on down the hatch. Even if one doesn't like the taste of it, really, how big a deal can it be to swallow a teaspoon of something? Cough medicine tastes far worse and we all take that ****!
