Default Songbird Played At Ceremony

Hi all!

I don't post here too often, but I was watching the news today and I am not sure if many of you know, but here in western canada 4 Royal Mounted Police Officers were slain in a drug bust. During there memorial, Susan Aglukark performed Songbird, a la Rumours Fleetwood Mac. I must say it was done very very well. It was quite interesting, I was just wondering if its common song that is covered per that version?

Kind Regards,

Neil

I saw that last night on The National, and yes, it was done very well. I've never heard of Songbird being played at a funeral, however, I was part of a trio that played it at a wedding.

"Songbird" has been covered quite often. I've heard of it being played at weddings more so than at funerals though.

I missed the memorial service - I was at school. I think part of it taped. I guess it's nice that a song like that can bring comfort.

The service is going to be rebroadcast in full on CBC and Newsworld Saturday afternoon. It was one of the most moving memorials of its kind I've ever seen.
