Cool Actually...

Cant think of any "love songs" I like...Just never been into the overly sappy love songs of the world.

Matter of fact after seeing Pattie's above post I can think one "love song":

"I Don't Believe In Love"-Queensryche

Just a slight correction... the song is "Nights in White Satin" I believe referring to white satin bedsheets.
I thought for the longest time that it was "Knights" dressed in satin rather than armour but then I got their Legend of a Band cd and discovered I had been wrong for years.

But by any name it's one of the greatest songs ever recorded.

Anyway, I wanted to add

The Beatles "Real Love" "Something" and "Words of Love"

Norah Jones' version of "More Than This"

I will go and look for them, thank you. I didn't get to do the Love Compilation until today ( 1 day late!)

I'm a somewhat recent fan. I saw her name last year on a Gillian Welch site, went and listened to some song clips on Amazon, then bought Fan Dance. I couldn't believe I'd never heard of her before. That's the only album of hers I have so far, though. I've been meaning to buy Martinis & Bikinis for the longest time, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Ohh, god, I love Fan Dance. Get Martinis and Bikinis- but if you like Fan Dance, you'll love A Boot and a Shoe, her newest. It's fantastic.

Hil, did you ever get into that John Lennon Acoustic version of Real Love? I know you like the Threetles version, but I can't stress enough how his demo versions (found on his anthology and the Dakota Demos bootleg) are just sooooo superior. But then again, the version the surviving Beatles did isn't awful by any means. I'm just preferable to the gentle quality of John's Real Love.

Words of Love is beautiful. John and George harmonizing together is greatness.

(sorry to all others for coming in like the Beatles-obsessed freak that I am...)
