Smart Ass

It is not that I disagree with Curtis' idea. I just think it would be great if kids could learn about all of the theories (and they are ALL theories) and choose for themselves. But, the idea of that happening is so repugnant to the far right and the far left . . .

You certainly have a point, but I've also heard him say that religion (not just Christianity) is evil and vile to him. And probably lots of other intensely negative terms as well.

As for not exposing your kids to that, you better turn off the t.v. and radio and never let them read a magazine - talk about not living the real world

Finally, you are once again limiting this to Christians, which is silly of you. Would you object to your kids learing about Hindu or Buddahist ideas or the ideas of the Wiccans, etc. I think not - but you will say yes just to be hard headed

Hardly. You just don't seem to be able to acknowledge that it is up the parents, not teachers, what their children are taught in regards to religious beliefs. If I don't want my kids taught about Christianity or Catholicism in public schools, they will not have it force-fed to them. Simple as that. They can learn all they want about that garbage at home or on the internet, but not in school.

And atheism is not a religion, it's a belief on how things should run.

Well, if you could read, you would see about six articles I posted on this - you did summarily refute them, but we ain't seen no specifics yets

Uh, isn't Catholicism a denomination of Christianity?

I can't help it if Christians are the ones running this country into the ground, dear.

Assinine view and you know it. School is the vehicle in which children are prepared for the real world. Again, I am not talking about advocating any religion - I am just saying the question will come up and teachers should be able to answer it. if you do not like that as a parent - tough AND it is your duty as such to explain why the world's religions are so repugnant to you. But to deny all kids access to knowledge is just wrong - period.

Yes, but they have different views and tolerances on certain things. Just ask the duelling Catholic and Christian missionaries.

Honestly, what would be the point?
