yeah, i didn't say we were good at it, i said it's nevertheless important that it exists and is supposed to be an integral part of our society...

Did you see robert smigels cartoon on snl, where on santa's map the red states were called "dumbf***istan"?

Why can't we teach religion in school? Children should learn all about various religions that people believe in all around the world.

I see no problem with religion being taught in a history class, but when actual beliefs are being taught as truths, that's where we get into problems.

Because it has no place there.

Which is why religion has no place in the public school system. It's simply impossible to teach religion in anything but a biased manner.

Yeah, besides, that's saved for college classes called "comparative religions" and stuff like that. Which does not compare at all to "teaching alternatives to evolution" in public schools.

I don't think you should teach religion, but I think it should be placed into its historical contexts....like the Crusades in a world history class.

I don't like math classes at all, but I'm not going to say "It's not important for students to learn algebra" just because I didn't like it at all. I guess it's good that you're not a member of the school board. And it good to know that separation of church and state is of such concern to you.

But I'm going to continually remind you that you said at one point that people can't be gay and moral at the same time, which is utterly ridiculous. How do you expect me to trust your statements to make sense after that?

I didn't say the religious version should be taught either. NEITHER should be taught. teaching Evolution is equally as biased as teaching religion. It's cramming evolution down kids throats, which is just a theory as is the creation thing.

I think you know that's completely false. And I'll let dissention take that one if he's interested.

It would be very biased. I had a Religions of the World class, and professor was clearly unhappy with teaching other beliefs other than Christianity.
