Because a lot of the songs you just listed are not appealing to the ears. Just because something is experimental does not make it a good song.

If you ask me Lindsey is really full of himself giving almost half the songs on Tusk to himself. It resulted in a bunch of songs being released that prob. should have not gone any further then being demos. He should have taken his best songs and made longer versions of them instead of half the album with little one minute songs from Lindsey. Just my oppinion of course.

Question for all those who voted for Storms (for whatever reason, mine was that I consider it the best song on Tusk ):

To see Storms win is it worthy of these endless lectures and comments about our bad taste?

Wow. A lot of those songs appeal to my ears...

And I think your assessment of Lindsey being "full of himself" is really self-serving. First, he did help produce the album, but he wasn't the only producer, so it's not like he ruled the thing with an iron fist. Second, if you do the math, Stevie actually clocks in with the most time (albeit, about 10 seconds), while Christine truely gets shorted, with about 6 minutes less time than S & L.

Like I said, he should have branched out and taken his best ideas and made them into longer songs. It is pretty annoying if you ask me to hear a minute and a half of a song and then it quickly ends.

This is just my opinion- what a message board is about. Sharing opinions and ideas. Clearly Stevie is my favorite member of the band but I truely love a lot of Lindsey's work- I just think he went too far on this record. I love his stuff on Say You Will because he appeals to the masses and is experimental at the same time. Some how he was able to balance the two and Say You Will ended up being my favorite record.

and you do know? how bout the 25 votes for lindseys song, those were all pure votes. wow, i never saw such a sore loser, with so many explainations. its a game, just cause you lost doesnt mean you shouldnt have had fun along the way. As opposed to over six minutes of Sara and almost every other Stevie song running over five minutes?

I don't think any of them were full of themselves, I think they did what they needed to do artistically.
