What is the difference in sound between a regular guitar and a 12 string one? I know Roger McGuinn used to play a 12 string now and then and I've seen Jimmy Page with one, too.
Question 2 - What kind of guitar is Jimmy playing in the opening intro to Babe I'm going to leave you? Thanks...

Twelve string guitars have, well, 12 strings, obviosly. So it has a fuller sound. Because the guitar actually has the normal strings and also the high octave strings, it sounds like two guitars playing. I love 12 strings.
In the beginning of Babe I'm gonna Leave you, he is indeed playing a 12 string and it sounds lovely. |

I just have to add that a 12 string is the most beautiful sound in the world!
