Default Record Needles?

I need to get a new needle for my record player, and I was wondering if I'd have to get a certain type or if I can get just any random kind. My record player's on the old side (it used to be my grandma's, but she let me have it ), so I don't know if there are still replacement needles for it. I'm hoping I can just get any random needle, but I figured someone here would know.

Thanks in advance!

We had to buy a needle for our turn table several years ago. From what I remember my mom went to a radio shack or something, and they didn't sell them anymore, so she had to special order one and it was like $30!!! um...I don't think I answered your question..you may need to do some research on the 'net for that...

I've tried finding record needles before, and if you live any where in NE Ohio, you're better off just heading the flea market and buying a whole new turn table.

I love this band.
