Default Can Anybody Help Find...

Every year I search (unsuccessfully!) for Walter Cronkite's old CBS series "You Are There", preferably on video. I believe it ran on CBS from 1953-57. He would host and real news correspondents would be at the (pretend) scene of some historical event. My seventh grade teacher showed the murder of Caesar episode (on filmstrip). I am looking for it on video or DVD for my classroom, along with the Trojan War episode. Last year I found some episodes supposedly available as filmstrips at some obscure website; this year I can't even find that site, though like I said, I'm more interested in the videos.

Frustrating. It's Walter friggin' Cronkite. You'd think there would even be a website devoted to the series or something.

Anything you find regarding availability will be appreciated.

Ohmygod! I remember these! Dan Rather was in them too. All the CBS reporters were. They'd have them "reporting" from the Battlefield at Gettysburg, etc. They were really cool. I'd love to see them again!

I definately watched that film strip in middle school.

Because i'm nice...and well, REALLY bored and I enjoy research, I checked it out. Unfortunately for you, I came up with nothing except mentions of the shows and reviews of a few of them. However, I do occassionally watch a show on the Discovery Channel which is very reminiscent of Cronkite's show called Moments In Time. I don't know if they covered the topic you are looking for but it probably wouldn't hurt to check it out...
