Default Looking for opinions on these bootleg videos

Hey everyone,

I am doing B&P's with 2 traders and I am getting three videos they are:

SN Live 1991- Concord 8-14-91
SN Live 2001- Pittsburgh 7-6-01(I think)-its opening night
FM Live 1979- Largo 11-25-79

Opinions?

The FM Largo is poor quality but is a good concert. I don't know of anyone who has a decent copy of this. The Pittsburgh show is good. The first couple of songs the camera is a bit shaky, then it goes to screen shot so it's pretty good. Quality is good on that one. The Concord show is pro shot and the quality is about a B+.

Concord: Blah. Stop Draggin' and Edge of Seventten are great, but the rest stink. Fantastic quality, though; it's pro-shot.

Pittsburgh: Pretty good. I can't stand the camera moving constantly, but oherwise it's good. Great version of Outside the Rain.

Largo: Awful quality, FANTASTIC concert.

"Concord" is actually Mountain View (Shoreline Amphitheatre) 8-15-91. It's pro-shot. For some reason, Stevie was passing out copies of these videos (this one & the Mountain View 1989 video) to bandmates.

Mac's Largo (Landover) is another pro-shot video, unedited. Someone -- Lindsey or John -- has some guitar trouble right before "Angel," so Chris & Mick play a round of "Jumpin' at Shadows" to pass the time.

Like any video, the lower on the generational ladder you can find a video, the better its quality will be. Landover's been circulating for so long that it would really take a major search & comparison to find a decent-looking dupe, but it can be done.

She did the same thing on the Mirror tour. She taped the San Jose show and gave copies to the bandmates; not a terribly great concert, but they did a pretty great job of shooting it.

Hey guys thanks for all the opinions.

But one thing questions me about Pittsburgh. Is it really shaky throughout the first couple songs like you cannt see her come out on stage. Because thats one huge reason why I loved the tour.

Like can you see stevie????

Everyone doesn't like the timespace tour but I happen to love many of the songs from that tour. Is If Anyone Falls good? I loved that!!

I wanted the Largo one just for a good keepsake and you can get some good trades for it!!

No, you can't really see her come out onstage on the Pittsburgh video. It starts off where it seems like the taper is trying to hide the camera from security. Throughout the show, they tape the big screen, so it's sort of like a pro-shot video. However, it gets *incredibly* shaky throughout. It's best towards the end of the show, especially during EO17. But when will people learnt hat we want to see Stevie during Stand Back and *not* the band? j/k

As for If Anyone Falls, I never thought that it translated well live, so I don't think it's very good. It was decent during the WH tour (one of her best tours), but on the Timespace tour, there was just way too much of the keyboards and the synth and crap to bear. Plus, Stevie sang like she had a head cold throughout the whole tour.

Hope this is of some help.

It was Lindsey who had guitar problems. Christine then said that it wouldn't be Fleetwood Mac if something didn't go wrong.

I've never seen anyone who had a decent copy of this video, although it's not quite as bad quality as the 1978 Largo video. Both are great concerts, but terrible quality.

I totally agree about the Stand Back thing.

I have STevie LIve at Woodstock on video and its proshot, on Stand Back they don't show the dance scenes after chourus 1+2. Then they dont show her kick!!!!!!!!!! I was pissed!

What happens in Pittsburgh? Same thing right? Just my luck! What about Concord? That was the appearence of the kick do u see it?

And how are the crowds? I like loud crowds? lol. I know what ur saying wait until the video comes but i cant!

Yeah, it drives me nucking futs when they show the band during Stand Back. It's one of my pet peeves.

I don't remember whether or not you see the kick on the TISL vid, I'll have to watch it again soon. I don't think it's on the Concord vid, though. She wasn't exactly energetic.

The crowd is loud on the TISL video, but it's kept to a minimum on the pro-shot Concord one since it was mixed professionally.

The only one of these I have (so far) is Concord '91. If Anyone Falls and Rhiannon standout in my mind. Very watchable. Though they are certainly entitled to, some people who do not give this video a good rating do not care for that tour. Just keep that in mind, and also just expect the show to sound like what was hip then.

EveryHour-

I totally agree with you. I am the only one who really liked this time period. I don't know why I do, but I just do. I am also a lover of BTM period and I have many vids of that too.

I loved If Anyone Falls from Timespace and I need to know and Stand Back and Rhiannon and Edge and Almost all the songs.

I love EVERY Stevie tour. Can't help it! OSOTM is a standout for me. Yes, she was on the lethargic side from the Klonopin, but she was still A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. She's still shining through the drug fog under there somewhere. Yes, a lot of the instumentation on the '89 and '91 tours seems dated now, but give it a chuckle and realize that was "the latest sound" at the time. The Edge intro on the '89 tour is especially amusing. If Anyone Falls sounded so great, and is obviously a gem since she has only ever performed it on that tour and the Wild Heart Tour. (Bring it back, Stevie!). It sounded good with the sax, IMO, and Stevie got really into it. And her Mae West clothing phase was great! There is a British '89 interview where she is asked about her unique outfit, and it's fascinating to hear about all of components of it; where she got all of the pieces and if they were old or new...

Everyhour-

I have only heard one boot from OSOTM and I loved it. I never got to hear edge, but i heard everything else and I loved it. It got me into Alice.

On Timespace tour I loved that into to edge of seventeen. Like the lightning striking and stuff, I LOVED IT. I need to know just totally rocked.

Have you heard or watched any boots from Behind the Mask period? I think you would like Stevie in these videos. Stand Back is especaially good because she walks all the ends of the stage.

Anyway cant wait for my videos to come because all this talk is getting me excited.
