"Special Kind of Love" appreciation post

I can't stand You & I Pt II either. It always sounds to me as if it's recorded on a Casio keyboard with the bossanova beat playing or something.
Just dreadful.

That's one of the reasons I love it,and Johnny Stew's quote of the lyric is another. Not only does this song offer the much needed levity after the "playing-in-the-drama" of "WISYA", it also dirties the gloss of TITN a little. This is the album where they truly started to have that "audiophile approach" after all, so when there's something that sounds a bit "cheap" in there, it balances the situation out somewhat. For me, it is the only link on TITN to the childlike gorgeousness of "I Know I'm Not Wrong". *notices how Downonrodeo and Shackin'up get odd looks on their faces*

And "Special Kind Of Love"? I'd still take this over any Stevie demo that runs 10+ minutes.
