I admit too I'd be interested in any unknown Christine demo + the band, though It's not something I particularly wish. I think it's unlikely John will collaborate with them, but who knows.

The thing is, between what happened in 2018 and the endless announcements about Lindsey and his new album, plus a supposed new documentary, I'm not excited anymore; it all bores me. It makes me want to tell them Get a life!

But yes, I do wish them all the best anyway.

I am concerned about this documentary that all 4 members are participating in. You know Stevie would not participate if the truth came out about her firing Lindsey for the silliest of reasons. This era of the band will be glossed over like Bob Welch was for Behind The Music.
I don't think we need this extra drama. Lindsey just write a book and stay away from these people.

I do think there is a difference between an outsider to the band making announcements about the band as opposed to the "announcements" which are really just band members trying to get the others to join in on something one or more of them want to do. Like Mick saying that the FM album was waiting for Stevie, when it turned out to be BuckVie. Or any of them making pronouncements about touring that never came to pass.

As for future FM projects, I can't say I have a lot of interest in whatever regurgitated version of history they put out as this documentary, but I'm willing to hope that the documentarian somehow gets access to old footage that will be worthwhile. Even though Rumours has been done to death, I think that the first go at the Rumours documentaries were pretty good, and I have always liked the Tusk documentary and Destiny Rules.

As for Lindsey believing that the universe will somehow bring more than this documentary to FM, he's been hoping for closure and for them to record/perform together from the moment they kicked him out and honestly even before then. I don't think Stevie will ever agree. She doesn't need to for her career, and she has made it clear she does not want to work with Lindsey again. I would be surprised if they are even interviewed in the same room for this documentary (if it ever comes out).

I don't think anyone who lived through all of the "healing" from The Dance has an appetite for that dog and pony show again. I don't know if any other oldie fans remember this article from Q Magazine during The Dance tour (https://www.fleetwoodmac-uk.com/arti...rt_arc009.html) -- but I've always remembered the skepticism about the healing and them basically calling out S/L for leading people on about their reconciliation/romance/whatever. IN 1997. That was at the peak of their reconciliation, and it was probably not even genuine then. Them playing that out 30 years after The Dance and 50 years since the broke up is so distasteful to me that I don't even think I could stomach it.

I do think the reconciliation was genuine in 1997, but just up to a certain point. Otherwise we wouldn't have had Twisted, SYW and all the tours these century (before 2018 of course). But that certainly doesn't mean they went back to being like they were in the 70s. And please, there wasn't any romance in 1997, though I admit I found nice (at that moment) those looks during Landslide and Silver Springs, I always saw it as just acting, nothing more.

Interesting you mention Lindsey hoping for closure. I guess he doesn't realize it is already closed. Unfortunately, it didn't have a proper ending, much less a pleasant one. Any new interaction would be something else entirely, something that wouldn't be called Fleetwood Mac (which, personally, like other Ledgies, I don't want).

Frankly I'd be more excited if they dusted off some unknown demo from the '70s or '80s, whether it's of an unknown song or even an alternate/early version of an old song (not included in any deluxe or expanded edition). That would interest me more than anything new from them.

For the first time in documentary history, I have some hopes for this Frank Marshall production. I saw his Beach Boys film and it was solid . . . you know, actually interesting. But I think Fleetwood Mac could have chosen an even better team to put something like this together. I also saw the Billy Joel doc AND SO IT GOES, which was magnificent on every level — as historical artifact, as streamlined and structured production, as insight into the artist, and as lengthy emotional journey. It was made by Susan Lacy and Jessica Levin for HBO, and it obviously had a crack production team behind it, which was given access to all sorts of vaults, and had writers around who built a narrative that was quite powerful — about Joel’s family life, his marriages, his parents, his tortured relationship with his dad, his studio achievements, his musical heritage, his tours, his rise and fall and rise again on the cultural scene.

If Fleetwood Mac gets even one-tenth of that care and passion from Frank Marshall, the doc will definitely be worth seeing.

If only it had been the Joel team doing this . . . .

As for any other stuff coming down the pipeline, a Lindsey solo album and a Stevie solo album and tour are about all. No Fleetwood Mac. However, I’m thinking that the psychobabble hints from Lindsey refer specifically to a single track on Stevie’s album (about ex-boyfriends) that will be produced by Lindsey or will feature a vocal from him.

I feel very cautious about what this documentary will focus on or be about... I have a suspicion that it may focus on the Rumours period of time.. which certainly COULD be a whole documentary and then some. But how do you distill down the 50 years of these people into a couple hours documentary. That said we don't know how long it will actually be, or if it will come out in parts like the Billy Joel one.... but....like others, I have to wonder how honest some of the members will be, and how much the film will have to sort of skim over in interest of fitting it all in. And then, if it is just focused on a particular window of time (say the Rumours era) ...like how many times can we revisit that unless someone is going to break rank and tell stuff we haven't heard a million times over already.... AND...did any of this begin before Chris's death? If it's been in the works truly just a couple of years then...no, she wouldn't have been involved. And that's a glaring omission in my opinion because she had a more objective view of a lot of stuff especially the S&L stuff. And given John's reticence to do ANY sort of interviews for years and years now.... how much did he participate??
