I probably prefer the afrobeat production of the Say You Will version more. Lenny Castro's conga playing on The Dance version is perfectly serviceable, but I absolutely adore Mick's percussion playing on the Say You Will recording, particularly the use of the talking drum. The vocal mix on the 2003 studio version is also superior in my opinion as Stevie's parts are far less obtrusive and blend nicely with the other voices. Christine is also far more prominent on the Say You Will recording, which is a huge plus. I also like the effect that Lindsey used on the ending guitar solo. I'm pretty sure it's a volume pedal with an envelope applied to the signal.

Neither. Easily one of Lindsey worst songs. I think it was included hoping fans would think it was about Stevie and stir all the old Rumours drama that made them so successful. Unless it was written in the 70's, I doubt it was about Stevie, but some fans will disagree.
I especially don't like the guitar on the Dance version.

Sweet Girl was my favorite new song from the Dance. It has melody and really nice moments.

But my favorite from that set of new songs is “Temporary One.” It seems most dialed in to the then contemporary pop music scene and has a killer bass line. Love Christine’s voice on the verses, too. |

I prefer The Dance because Lindsey's vocal is better... although I do really love the last 90-ish seconds of the SYW version.
