None of us can forget that Stevie listened to all the Mac records, frontwards, backwards, sideways . . .in order to make the decision.

Stevie has commented that she was very quiet during the White recording, because she felt they had not wanted her and only wanted Lindsey. She did not want to rock the boat or make any demands, when her footing was unsure. But when her songs became popular, she could be her true self.

My thoughts: it's great that's it's finally getting released and I like that Rhino devoted a page to it's release. Usually I praise Rhino, but this is disappointing. You couldn't have added the singles to the CD? Instead you're charging $80 for the vinyl with singles and $40 for the vinyl? And they're sold out before most people even knew they were even available. Obviously snatched up by resellers hoping to make a buck. Ridiculous. I prefer the CD anyway and I'm sure it will sound great but no bonuses is extremely disappointing. Maybe L&S demanded a lot of money for the rights, so they're price gauging fans.

I suspect this is all leading up to an even more expensive box set in the next couple months with all the goodies to ensure that fans buy multiple copies. Especially since they realize the demand and media attention. I've always bought everything they release, but I'm drawing a line, especially at $80 single albums. I'm sure it won't stop most people.

I bought the original gatefold album in the bargain bin in the late 70's and was never that impressed with it and never understood the hype. There's some nice songs but lyrics like "Sunflowers and your face fascinate me" were cringeworthy even in the hippy era. For me, this is the end of era and my willingness to keep supporting such greed. With concert tickets costing hundreds to a thousand or more dollars I simply can't enjoy myself supporting acts at these prices, especially the aging acts that are waaayyyy past their prime. I don't get it.

They might be holding stuff back for a record store day release.

thank you! ugh i see such nonsense all over the place where people are saying how lindsey fought for stevie to be included, they didn't even want her, blah blah blah, when actually mick didn't seem to have any issue letting stevie join as long as the ladies got along. mick initially asked about the guitarist because the band needed a friggin guitarist. it wasn't any sinister plot to exclude poor stevie.

I for one think there will be additional promotion and there will be appearances. What shape those take, I don't know. But this is a money making opportunity, and in my opinion, Steve, Lindsey, Mick, and Irving are likely to want to do their best to maximize that potential.
People are just stating their opinions and guesses at what is going to happen, just as you have here. Maybe some word it more definitively, but none of us actually knows.

I have one gatefold I got in the 90s in a used record store in Boston. There's a little writing on it, so I got it for $15. They had others that were more than triple the price.

I have nearly zero interest in the rerelease of BN.

Don't like the music, or over the hype? Or, you would rather have new music?

New music or stuff we haven't heard before. BN is an interesting album and all, but nothing new.

Is the name a reference to the sales it will have?

OMG, we agree on something!

You're right, it won't.

Any guesses? I'm guessing 100k copies(if that). And I mean BN, not her solo album.

The business model has changed. Artists make their living from concerts, not records. And for old artists, it's even worse. If they sold a lot, it would be a phenomenon. That's why they like to reissue deluxe editions, it's more sales attractive. Only true fans eagerly await and welcome new music, but it's a small market.

Rhino must conduct exhaustive market research to release albums that guarantee satisfactory revenue.

If Stevie release a new album, it won't sale that much. If she go on the road for supporting the album, probably a bit more than Lindsey's last album or SWS.

BN is a different case, but yes it could be a bit less than 100k. I hope I'm wrong. How much sold BuckVie? Wikipedia says 60K in UK, did it sell more in the US?
