Dear Lindsey, aren't you sorry you insisted on a package deal?

...and out of those fifty years, we got less than seven years of intense activity from that line-up, a little bit of recording for Tango and a couple of reunion tours. Such a shame.

A shame to me that the last Fleetwood Mac release of new music was 11 years ago. I guess it's a miracle Extended Play was even released because Stevie refused to make a Fleetwood Mac album in 2008-2009.

But I guess 50 years ago, Stevie wanted to be where she is now at age 76, playing in front of 60,000 people...in the daylight opening for Billy Joel.

She most certainly didn't want to be a cleaning lady.

She wanted to be famous, whatever it took.... whoever's a$$ she had to kiss, whoever she had to sleep with, whoever she had to screw over, whatever loss of artistic integrity to chase trying to have a hit song...FAME. That was all she has ever wanted.

Truest words ever written. Fame was her only goal.

You know, what did John McVie once say.. something along the lines of "we all have egos" so it's just as well to remember that. Maybe Stevie wasn't the only one who couldn't control hers on her occasion, but it's the sour aftertaste of the denial of a perfect sunset for the band that irks a lot of us here, me included.

Steven Hopkins' comment re the merging of the two entities that had exactly what the other needed hits it on the nail for me. Oh, for a time machine to see and hear those early days of 1975 or their imperial pomp of the next few years. We got what we got. I'm grateful for that.
