Having been an equal fan of both bands going back to the 1970s .I have to say ABBA are the polar (pardon the pun) opposites of Fleetwood Mac when it comes to being curators of their legacies. Not only was Mamma Mia a huge success they released a studio album 40 years after their last which had some great highlights and was a worldwide hit. Their ABBAtar show which sounded hokey on paper is also a huge hit. They have been tasteful, classy and for 2 ex couples very cooperative with each other.

I really want a new album from Stevie. She’s been saying for 2 years that she’s recording with Greg Kurstin. She said Show Them The Way was in her top songs which she’s said about Soldier’s Angel and Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream).

It’s just a shame Lindsey wouldn’t allow her to perform Show Them The Way on her current solo tour she’s been on for two years.

The last sentence was a commentary on Stevie crying to the press in 2020 that she should be out on stage singing Show Them The Way because it’s one of her top songs. That was October 2020, today July 2, 2024. It hasn’t been played. So I joke because remember Lindsey wouldn’t allow Fleetwood Mac to play songs like Storms and All Over Again (which Stevie only heard for the first time in 2018 listening to the Sirius FM channel).

You want a solo album from a nutcase.

Storms was played in the 2009 Unleashed tour.

So was Sisters. I was singing the "A"s for Stevie, since she couldn't hit them.

Exactly, which proves that Lindsey never prevented her from singing any of her own songs in concert. Sara, Seven Wonders, Sisters, Storms, Stand Back, Beautiful Child, Without You, Destiny Rules, Goodbye Baby, Say You Will, Silver Springs. Stevie had control over which of her FM or solo songs she wanted to sing

Who said Lindsey would’ve objected to “Storms”? Lindsey would’ve been fine playing that or any song from that lineup, and especially something off of Tusk.

Lindsey’s issue was play songs he wasn’t involved with (1967-1974, 1988-1995), aside from “Oh Well.”

As for “All Over Again “ it’s pretty clear that was one of the obscure songs she and Mick listened to in Italy in 2017. Do you really think Lindsey would have agreed to perform that?

Ok—I know you wrote so much more and were talking about Lindsey and Stevie, but can I just say I love this insight because it alludes to broader more general implications for artistic production…

People here say Lindsey did not want to play Isn't It Midnight. The 2018 Fleetwood Mac had an issue with playing 1988-1992 songs. Behind The Mask was a #1 album in The UK. Paper Doll was a hit in Canada. But those years were not represented in the setlist and Mick, John, Christine, and Stevie were involved with those songs.

That is not true. In a 2018 interview, Stevie said she heard the song All Over Again for the first time in 2018 while she was listening to the SiriusXM Fleetwood Mac channel. I don't know if Lindsey would have played All Over Again if Stevie asked him to. He did play Stand Back and he had nothing to do with that solo song of Stevie's.

Yes, I remember I have read that in this website, too. But I never knew what was the source or if that was mentioned in an interview too. I mean, I have read several things in The Ledge that were never verified, or that were definitely not true. I remember I read around october '97 that the Reunion Tour (aka The Dance) was suddenly cancelled because the band broke up (the post even described a bitter fight). But that tour was never cancelled.

Isn't it Midnight was played by the Post Rumours lineup, and in 2018 too. Was it played in the BuckVie tour? I didn't find a setlist that included, or a video in YT. Does anybody know? This makes us think that Lindsey wouldn't want to play it, but it could be a coincidence too. Does anybody have sources, info about it?

The source for Lindsey not wanting to play Isn’t it Midnight was always “trust me bro.” It was always an assumption since he’s never played it live. But given he only toured with Chris three times since the song was released, it’s not surprising.

No, it was not in the BuckVie setlist.
