Lindsey features in new UK magazine UNCUT

Honestly, Mac without Lindsey is a very sad sad band. (Not including pre-75 stuff.)

We all know this. They simply shouldn’t have toured without him. They all deserve to hang their heads in shame.

But the particular darts ledgies are throwing at Christine....well, yes, her decision to back Mick and Stevie is disappointing, but why should she fall on a sword for either Stevie or Lindsey when for decades the mutual Love-hate of the Americans has essentially taken up all the air and space?

In the end, Christine was loyal to Mick and to $. Awful. But not nearly as awful as Stevie and Lindsey’s endless toxic feud.

She probably is ashamed to some degree. And Lindsey had no problem shaming her a little bit with that comment about buying a house. She deserves it. These people, for the most part, have never truly had to grow up. They are blind to the main consequence of their selfishness (which is…loneliness.) Lindsey is the only one who demonstrates any consistent growth as a human being and artist. And he values the legacy of the band as the world at large knows it which is the Rumours lineup.

Lindsey gave Christine a final opportunity to release new material with mostly Fleetwood Mac which we know now she never would have gotten at all had it been up to Stevie Nicks in capital letters.

I agree that they've never grown up. Except maybe John. He seems to be able to just walk away, and wash his hands of their drama.

There's just no excuse. You either have some principles or you don't. The entire conflict has proven to be nothing but a complete sham. It did nothing but reveal what a bunch of pricks the majority of them continue to be and clearly displayed the egomania of Stevie Nicks and her never-ending BS.

If Christine is callous enough to do what she did, I don't think she even remotely cares enough about the Stevie-Lindsey drama to allow it to make her feel like she needed to quit.

At this point, all four have proven they'd run over anyone if they can fart in a jar for a bucket of cash. Except for John McVie, the king of doormats. He doesn't show up for anyone or anything.

Fair enough. She really did deserve that dart. What a weak thing to say. She came back to tour with Mike Campbell and Neil Finn? I'll always love her music and her personality. But this is one time she highly disappointed me. She does need to be called out.

I AGREE with what you’re saying here. I even said something similar in my comment above.

But what I am also saying is no amount of betrayal and shame Christine, Mick, and John must and should feel compares to the toxic nature of the Lindsey-Stevie relationship. That the Brits had to essentially center that dynamic in everything they have done since 1976 has got to be nothing short of terrible.

In other words, Lindsey is no saint either. He and Stevie are to blame for his firing. I would have preferred they continued on without Stevie and kept him (if such a choice had to be made) but the fact that those two have stolen most of the air in the room—well, that is NOT Christine’s fault.

I agree that their relationship was horribly toxic. And embarrassing, that 70yo people were STILL acting like they're children.

I can understand his side of things far more than hers, as $he just bugs the sh*t out of me. $he won the game, and he's jealous. Yet $he's a card carrying idiot. And still the $eat filler. His ENORMOUS talent sits in her shadow. Her piano playing is the most embarrassing sh*t I've ever heard...

When we all think of Fleetwood Mac, we should all be thinking of innovation and mastery and craftsmanship and about-face live performances. Instead, most people think about that “dynamic” — the fighting and the sexual intermingling and the chaos. That’s the stuff that starts off every article about the band over the past fifty years. The nonsense always made them money but degraded their actual achievements. Any discussion about Fleetwood Mac should center on great tracks with inventive arrangements, good songwriting, catchy hits, the most interesting balance of male and female in rock, and full-throttle live shows. But the junk that takes priority over everything is the junk you’re talking about, the reality TV junk with members scrapping with each other year after year and never growing up.

What did Bowie write? You can practically hear the McVies in this:

I don’t think Christine is a terrible person but she failed Lindsey and she failed the band. And of course people want to know what part she played (passive, submissive, apathetic, etc) because the only songs she had released in over a decade were engineered by Lindsey. And I think it meant a lot to Christine to put out new music, or else she wouldn’t have done it. It’s f’ed up to watch the documentary on the LB/CM album and then be faced with the reality that Lindsey was fired from FM and she just…did nothing.

Also, we see you Christine, using housing an excuse since at least the early 90s.

I often think Christine left after The Dance because although she was tired and done with it, Stevie and Linsdey pushed her over the edge with their constant awful behavior. It must have been hell dealing with that. And it continues to this day. (Being in the middle, of a bad love affair.)
