Indeed.

2020 was a wash for touring etc. 2021 remains to be seen.

She's got her 24k film coming out, which won't likely be playing in theaters, and if it is, won't do huge business to start with and then with covid even less.

Her song won't make a dent, but I think right now she's more about "staying relevant" and putting something out.

The Rhiannon project I will believe when I see it. I and others have been hearing about this project since the 1970s. To put it in a different perspective, imagine if we were sitting here and it was 1920 (instead of 2020) and we were saying "She's been talking about that project since the 1870s".
TWENTY years back in our current century, and then another THIRTY years back into the previous century.

I admit I would see it, whatever it is, but....someone else better be the engine behind getting it done or else ....

I think she defines her "youthful" years as the years she can still put on the extensions/a wig and make up and not look like Bette Davis in her final years. Vanity is a thing with her and she wants to be remembered for how she LOOKED not how she LOOKS if you get what I mean.

Does anyone think even *she* can weather another Mac tour?? I don't. If the money was right however you know she'd do it. Didn't they all, including Mick, say that this last tour would be their last major tour??

I hope LB doesn't go back....but, I could see all 5 caving for something recorded. Either a live in a studio thing like The Dance, or a big show at an arena that gets filmed as the capstone. I'm getting the vibe from LB that somehow he's not entirely shut off the such an idea.....

I think LB wants back. He is not done with them like some of his fans are. It’s disheartening to me. I liked the guy from 1987. I liked it when he was more wanted than wanting.

Back for what One last big cash grab "farewell" tour with the Rumours five. To do another Fleetwood Mac album when we know that Stevie won't participate even though she wants to make another solo album and just put out a dud new song? It would be a disappointment if he did want to rejoin this unsavory bunch.

i feel the same as you. i know he wants the reconciliation on a private level and i am ecstatic for him that seems to be happening - somewhat.

but Fleetwood Mac events? one-off like the dance was? sure. tours or anything time consuming? please no.

please Lindsey no. you are flushing your own legacy down the toilet if you do that. and you were just starting to get your name more known. and some street cred that participating on The Killers / Caution gave you. don't throw it all away.

yup.

there will be no Mac album. definitely not with Lindsey. and another cash grab tour would diminish, not build their legacy. unless Stevie actually exits Fleetwood Mac. which she has no need doing. the other 3 would be more than happy to work and push an album out with Lindsey then. but it should be under FM name, not like last time.

now, again, one-off event or two? sure.

The thing is, Lindsey would not see it as a betrayal of his own legacy. I suspect that he still believes he needs the big machine to distribute the small machine creations to the most people. We live in a DIY world and I am sure that Lindsey’s children know it, but I don’t think he does. He doesn’t know he can get exposure without FM. Even if he was beginning to catch on to this before, the pandemic has changed that. It has limited his options, because he cannot tour like he wanted.

Now, I realize that the success of the cranberry juice fellow should tell Lindsey that anybody can get millions of ears, under the right circumstances. They don’t need a big name band. He doesn’t need one and should just be happy to still have artistry to share, no matter how small his audience. I think he learned this overtime, but mortality may have caused him to go backwards.

If he did reunite, it would not be to abandon his new material. It would be to help it, the surest way he thinks he knows how.

I guess I see this a bit differently from the majority here. Lindsey was so clearly hurt when he was removed from the band. Go back to the lyrics of On With the Show. He saw this band as his and their surviving legacy and his sense of community, even if the community was not always unified. That was all taken away from him in a phone call from Irving Azoff and everyone in his community stopped talking to him. The hurt and pain from that forced separation and subsequent isolation is real, its deep, and depressive.

Further, for the prior 21 years he was the band's driving force and frankly why it came back to life and then thrived during its revenue making heyday, post Stevie's temporary career crater, Mick's bankruptcy(s), Christine's departure. The Dance does not happen. Say You Will and its 130 date tour does not happen. 2009, 2013, 2014-2015 tours don't happen and the band becomes so irrelevant, there is no chance the financially successful revamped 2018-2019 tour takes place. In his mind, Fleetwood Mac had become his band and I am sure he at times became overbearing and controlling, but he was also essentially given the power. As Stevie, famously said, Fleetwood Mac is a democracy, we all get a vote, except Lindsey, he get's two. They empowered him, he became the big (well really skinny) daddy. Then the family left him.

He had a heart attack, he had open heart surgery, his children are getting older. The youngest will graduate high school in 2022. In my opinion he sees his mortality and he may prioritize his need to reconnect with his estranged band family and he needs to be part of the final incarnation of Fleetwood Mac for his posterity, legacy and peaceful closure.

I too agree with all of this.

Michele, I know exactly what you're trying to say. But more important, night by night she watched it all come into play and He held her hands, she listened to what he had to say. (by phone)

I agree it must have been a shock to his system. He realized since they wouldn't make new music that they didn't need him any longer in the studio. Even if they did agree to make another album, Stevie probably wouldn't want him to play the producing role that he had in the past.

But it seemed that they would still need him on stage. I certainly thought so. I felt he was such a powerhouse, so energetic still. Mick would comment on how he never left the floor. I couldn't envision their show without him. I felt that Stevie has been miffed that he upstaged her ever since the SYW tour, but on the other hand, I thought she liked the fact that she had a lot of time backstage and could change her clothes, sip some tea and then return and dazzle her fans without straining herself too much physically. It gave her so much more money and exposure than her solo shows, but for less work. That's why I thought the live shows still gave him leverage. With Christine's return, I didn't think that would suggest to Mick and Stevie that they could tour with two songwriters. I could not have foreseen that she would kick him out and I guess Lindsey didn't either. He didn't know that he was expendable.

don't think so. he might see FM as a closure, but he's completely aware of toxicity between Stevie and himself. love/hate has become pretty much open hate now. she's not even trying to conceal anymore all the jealousy and hate she feels - it comes out so completely obvious to any unbiased reader in her latest interview. also, she is finally openly saying what he's been telling people for the last 8 years - no, they don't like each other, they are not friends, and no, they never talk unless they have to on stage or for recording.
