As a Fleetwood Mac “ Historian” as I consider my self now after 40+ years of my investment in their music. I’m happy to have this official release of these Tango sessions of her recordings. She as obviously not at the top of her game buy I love that chapter of the MAC.

I agree about Stevie’s voice being in total shambles during the Tango era. It’s amazing that both Ooh My Love And Juliet were “cleaned up” the way they were and both appeared on OSOTM just 2 and a half years later in much better arrangements with much better vocals. But that’s what happens when you mix substances. If you have to do some singing and you’re mixing and ingesting 2 or 3 powerful substances, your singing is gonna just sound BAD. Thank goodness Stevie made it out alive from all of that.

Unpopular opinion: I actually think TITN would have been stronger if "Ooh My Love" had made the cut. It sounds pretty polished even in "demo" form, and I'm sure they would have worked on it more (additional vocal takes) if Petty hadn't pulled the plug.
It does sound similar to "Runaway Trains," so why did Buckingham get a co-writing credit on the Deluxe demo instead of Campbell? |
