Default Thrown Down: a little off topic

Just wondering if anyone else caught "Thrown Down" being played in the background on a "Friends" episode last season? That was pretty cool

Default Perfect song for the epi...

Yep, it was great! It fit with what the characters were going through. I loved how Stevie's voice got louder and louder as the episode ended. Friends is of course off to rerun-heaven, so people will hear Thrown Down played for a long time to come. It's a great thing!!

Here Merf. That site says:

NOVEMBER 10
Evanescence "My Immortal" (Wind-Up)
Fleetwood Mac "Thrown Down" (Reprise)
Simple Plan "Perfect" (Lava)

ALBUMS:
Coldplay "Coldplay Live 2003" (Capitol)
Josh Groban "Closer" (Reprise)
LeAnn Rimes "LeAnn Rimes Greatest Hits (To Be Continued)" (Curb)
Pink "Try This" (Arista)

Apparently they're going to release to Hot AC stations. Not smart. It won't be played on any Hot AC stations around here, anyway. When are they going to learn to go AAA? Perhaps if they'd record a damned video.. but noooo.

Sorry Sonia, but I couldn't disagree more in regards to "Murrow ..." being a good choice for a single. As good as the song may be, it's not the least bit radio friendly. SYW was actually a great choice for a single, but these days, radio just isn't that kind to older acts such as Fleetwood Mac, no matter how great the song is.

AAA menas Adult Album Alternative.....Quite a mouthful.

Some Current Bands with Songs in AAA Top 30:

REM, Ben Harper, Pete Yorn, Sting, John Mayer, Los Lonely Boys, Howie Day, Sheryl Crow, Dido, Wallflowers.

So a pretty eclectic mix. Kind of music that is too old for today's alternative crowd but not quite as mainstream as HOT AC.

This format has treated the Say You Will singles the best. Peackeeper went to number 3 and Say You Will to 10 on the AAA chart.

Thanks John!!! Well, I'm certainly glad they're sending Thrown Down to AAA!

We can agree to disagree on this one. I work at a radio station, and we have a sister station that is a top 40 and the Program Director there thought Murrow was more radio friendly than SYW...the reason being it sounds fresh, edgy and it rocks, where as SYW sounds like nostalgic old Fleetwood Mac only not as good as the old stuff (this is not my opinion, it's what he said). Classic artists like Sting and U2 update their sound to be more contemporary and are able to get lots of play on Top 40 radio when they come out with new material because it sounds modern but it still sounds like them. But I know that's just one programmer's opinion, not the industry's (unfortunately).
I think Murrow is very attention-grabbing and almost catchy in addition to being awesome and having a message people can relate to nowadays, so to me it's radio friendly for a younger audience. But that's JMHO. I just love the song .
The other problem now is this particular Top 40 station is probably not even gonna play Thrown Down because SYW bombed as a single .
This is just Top 40, I have no idea about other radio formats. Let's hope Thrown Down gets a chance
