7,000 reseved seats at 125 is 875,000 before selling a single lawn seat. You sell 5,000 lawn seats at 50 each another 250,000. Before you know it a show before 12,000 people in shed has grossed 1.1 mil.
A recent example. October 2003 Fleetwood Mac plays the sold out Pepsi Center in Denver. Crowd 15,000. Tickets 125, 75, 49.50. The gross was 1.2 Aersomith plays Cynthia Woods Amphitheatre Ocotber 2003. Crowd was 15,000. Tickets 125 and 60. Gross was 1.2. 6,900 reserved seats. Similiar ticket prices at dissimilar venues with similiar revenue. This without a mid level ticket price. A promoter guarantees a revenue number to a band. From that guarantee the production, venue, and personnel costs are paid. Indvidual band members take their guarantee from that amount as well. Last edited by John Run; 10-25-2003 at 04:21 PM.. |
